Height Adjustable Springs for BMW G87 M2 S58 3.0L

Height adjustable springs give you a mix of features shared between coilovers and lowering springs, without the commitment that either one requires. If you are considering installing coilovers on a newer model BMW, you've probably thought about your EDC system. Height adjustable spring systems allow you to retain EDC, like you would be able to with lowering springs, but also give you height adjustability you would get from coilovers. Height adjustable springs are the perfect option for newer BMWs looking to retain factory EDC functionality and fine tune ride height.

AST Adjustable Lowering Springs (ALS) are a great alternative to traditional lowering springs as they allow for a range of adjustment, not a fixed ride height. This is perfect for someone looking to dial in the exact ride height desired on their BMW. A major benefit of AST's ALS kit is direct compatibility with all stock factory suspension systems, such as adaptive/electronic suspension. Suspension ride height adjustments can be made without negatively affecting the electronic adjustment system or your BMW's driving dynamics. Product Details: Fits G87 M2 / G80 M3 / G82 M4/CSL and Competition Models with xDrive or RWD Optimized spring rates Front and Rear for improved dynamics Compatible with Adaptive M factory dampers w/ OEM EDC Lowers vehicle by 20-46mm front and 10-36mm rear Developed to be one of the lowest ride height ranges available for G series BMWs

For the driver that demands the best out of their vehicle. The Dinan Adjustable Coil-Over Suspension was bred in the race lab but refined on the street for maximum versatility. No matter the environment, the traction that is awarded to the vehicle from the improved suspension will inspire newfound confidence when running at higher speeds. From the substantial reduction in body roll as well as reduction of dive under braking and squat under acceleration, Dinan guarantees you superior handling, performance, and comfort.

Dinan's design retains the superb factory electronic shocks but swaps the springs to a more aggressive, performance enhancing formula and implements threaded collars that allow the user to change the ride height themselves. While shorter, stiffer springs are commonplace in aftermarket suspensions and are a key element in reduction of body roll it is not a one size fits all approach. In the case of the G87 M2 where the vehicle has a penchant for oversteer, stiffening the rear springs would exacerbate the problem of the rear losing traction before the front when the platform is pushed to the limit. Dinan instead has opted to soften the rear spring rate as well as switch from the factory progressive rate rear to a dual rate spring setup. The combination increases predictability and compliancy, and in turn, provides better rear grip/road holding for a vehicle that needs both. The result is a sleek lowered stance that provides improved handling to go along with its stunning visual appearance. The springs combined with progressive bump stops and other components increase travel that allow the car to be lowered up to 1-1/8" in the front and over 2" inches in the rear. However, to retain the ride quality synonymous with Dinan suspension kits the recommended drop of 3/4" in front and rear is advised. For suspension connoisseurs, or those that are just simply very particular, suspension packers are included to fine-tune handling and comfort by changing the clearance of the progressive bump-stops --- something no respectable race car is without.

Contrary to the market norm, the Dinan G87 M2 kit is not a direct carryover from the G8x M3/M4 but a package independently developed to eke the most out of the M2 and the nuances that differ it from its larger siblings. The rear spring rates in particular on the smaller coupe are far more aggressive than those on the M3/M4 from the factory. This produces a stiffer, more uncomfortable ride than most are fond of beyond the racetrack. While utilizing the same rear springs as the Dinan M3/M4 kit is possible the rates would be substantially softer resulting in reduced stability in cornering and an increase in body roll. Instead, Dinan M2 rear springs are 13% softer than factory but still 10% stiffer than what the M3/M4 kit would offer so a more compliant and comfortable ride can be achieved while also retaining its sporty character and abilities.

NOTE: Due to the extensive lowering possible and the increased suspension travel, the installer must carefully evaluate tire clearance under all situations. Safety will be compromised if all precautions are not taken. Dinan is not responsible for any property damage or injury.

Features:

  • Up to 1-1/8" of lowering in front and over 2" of lowering in back are possible depending on tire clearance but with diminished ride quality
  • Dinan recommends a 3/4" drop in front and rear to maintain a civilized ride
  • Up to 1" of lift in front and over 2" in back over stock are also possible
  • Threaded collars allow easy and precise front & rear vehicle height adjustments
  • Spring rates are 29% stiffer in front and 13% softer in the rear for increased predictability and compliancy
  • Substantial reduction in body roll
  • Dinan-spec progressive bump stops improve ride quality at lowered ride heights
  • Included suspension packers allow adjustment of bump-stop clearance to fine-tune handling and comfort
  • Components are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and black anodized for a sporty appearance as well as corrosion protection
  • Stock upper spring mounts are utilized as well as spring isolators for quiet operation

Unlike conventional lowering springs, the MMR Height adjustable springs (HAS) for the current G80 M3, G82 M4 and G87 M2 gives you a fully customisable ride height adjustment. So, however you want your car to sit, our kit allows you to infinitely fine tune heights front and rear until you reach your ideal stance. By retaining the adaptive M dampers, this HAS solution is much more cost-effective than upgrading to coilover suspension, yet with the reassurance of keeping your high quality, sophisticated factory dampers in place. Best of both worlds. The method of height adjustment is exactly the same as on a coilover suspension setup. Four adjustable perches fit underneath the Sport Springs. With a simple turn up or down on the threaded platform to adjust ride height, you can tailor it until reaches your perfect height and rake. This generous sweep of adjustment provides a lowering range of 20-45mm on the front and 10-35mm at the rear (versus the factory ride height). The sport springs themselves, finished in beautiful MMR grey, are progressive rate springs, with rates carefully chosen to match with the damper characteristics of the factory M2, M3 & M4 G8x suspension. Features: A lowering range of 20-45mm on the front and 10-35mm at the rear. Retain adaptive M dampers. Fitment for RWD & X-Drive variants. Fitting is straightforward and installed with no modifications required. Easily returned to standard, should you ever wish. Specifically designed for the BMW G-Series platform. Kit complete with everything you need.
