BMW turbos such as the N54 are capable of really impressive power numbers on stock engine internals but the factory turbos lack the precise tolerances and reliability that an upgraded unit will deliver. In other words, the stock turbos can only do so much and if big power (>400whp) is your goal a turbo upgrade must be in your plans. Our partners are leading experts in turbo technology and upgrades. Protect your Mini with the Turbo Heat Shield, an essential accessory to prevent hood paint discoloration, scoop warping, and underhood heat damage caused by excessive turbocharger heat. Additionally, it enhances the underhood appearance of your MINI. This metal plate mounts to factory points using supplied hardware, effectively reducing the amount of heat that bypasses the factory shield. While not encasing the turbocharger entirely, it serves as a secondary defense, complementing the factory-installed heat shield that isn't fully effective in preventing long-term hood paint and scoop damage.

This is an OEM replacement turbo assembly for the B46 engine found in the BMW F48 and F39. This is a new turbo from Mitsubishi, not a rebuilt unit. This is a complete assembly, including the manifold to the engine and the wastegate. Signs of a failing turbo are high oil consumption and blue smoke from the exhaust (not from a leak or failing CCV system) because the internal oil seals are no longer retaining oil. Without critical lubrication and cooling effects from oil, the turbo shafts and bearings are usually the first to wear and that requires a complete rebuild. You might also see increased turbo lag or failure to hold boost, which is usually a sign of a failing wastegate or some other internal issue. With any internal problems, the turbos need to be replaced. This is a new turbo - No core charge.
