This ball joint is used for the upper rear trailing arm bushing on ALL E36, E46, E83 X3, and E85 Z4 cars. BMW also used it as the lower bushing on most M cars. It makes a great upgrade on all non-M cars where BMW used a rubber bushing at the lower position.
This sealed ball joint is one of the best things about the rear suspension - it functions extremely well and lasts a long time. And it can be used as a replacement for the existing bushing without any further modification. The non-M cars used a solid rubber bushing for the lower arm (camber arm, wishbone) which does not last very long and relies on bushing deflection (twist) during suspension motions. The ball joint inside the upgraded design is much more effective during this suspension movements as it does not bind or deflect. And because it's sealed with rubber it will last a long time and remain quiet and maintenance free. Most customers report that after installing or "upgrading" to these bushings the rear end of their car felt much more stable.

Introduced in the late 1990s, the DISA (Differenzierte Sauganlage or differentiated intake system) valve plays a crucial role in adjusting the intake manifold's effective length. This mechanism incorporates a flap that opens and closes in response to DME inputs, optimizing airflow for both high and low RPM use.
Although the DISA system marked a significant leap in engine efficiency, it has become a common point of failure in older BMW models. The flap is secured to the body using a plastic pin, prone to degradation over time due to heat exposure. This is a replacement power steering fluid reservoir. Why replace the reservoir? Because the connection between the reservoir tank and the hoses is one of the prime locations for power steering leaks on these cars. It's mostly due to the style of clamp that BMW used. But also any replacement clamps are usually over-tightened on these plastic reservoir nipples. There is also a filter inside the reservoir that cannot be changed or serviced. So it's a good idea to replace the tank and get a new filter at the same time. With fresh fluid and a clean filter you might be able to restore some steering smoothness and precision to your BMW!
