Swapping E46 Non-M control arms to your E36 is a quick way to increase camber and increase your front tire track width. To makes this an easier process, we are proud to introduce our Turner Motorsport Front Control Arm Monoball Upgrade kit! Our experience with spherical front control arm ball joints go back to those we designed and used in our IMSA E90 328i and E92 M3 racecars (GS class Champions in 2011). We wanted to offer e30, e36, and e46 owners similar levels of handling precision and control for the track and street, but weren’t satisfied with the other options out there. Instead of a Delrin® bushing or unsealed spherical bearing alone, we selected an oversized sealed greaseable spherical monoball to offer unparalleled durability and precision, but designed a Delrin® adapter sleeve to help isolate the added noise, vibration, and harshness that a full solid monoball bearing will have. While race-ready, our hybrid Delrin®/monoball control arm bearings are more at home on the street than other kits that are advertised as “race-only” bearings. We did extensive street, autocross, and track testing to ensure the spherical bearing used in this bushing design excelled in each setting. The stock rubber bushings, even those found in the M3, allow significant fore/aft movement of the front wheels to help absorb road impacts, especially when being pushed hard. This soft flexible design maximizes daily driving comfort, but also allows considerable alignment change. This unwanted deflection stands between you and a crisp, confidence-inspiring driving experience. The advantage of a monoball bearing is that it will not deflect under load, eliminating all unwanted deflection while still allowing complete freedom of movement in the desired angles. What you get is superior steering precision with better handling from more consistent alignment and direct braking feedback, with exceptional service life. Thanks to the Delrin® insert and double lip seals, there's none of the extra noise or reduced service life often found on other spherical bearings. In short, if you're seeking front control arm bushings that offer precise, predictable handling, crisper braking feel, with a long service life free from noise - look no further. We have you covered. Watch to learn more about Turner Monoball Bushing Bearing Extremely robust, greaseable, double lip sealed spherical bearing (Rated for 20,000lbf Dynamic, 90,000lbf Static). Housing 6061-T6, anodized bearing housing with needle grease zerk for easy maintenance. In house designed knurled OD to provide the perfect fit for the wide range of housing diameters among brands. Precision CNC machined Delrin bearing insert arm adapter, providing a tight fit between the bearing and the control arm. Performance Instant, crisp steering and braking response. Easy to maintain, long-lasting performance. Improved road feel without undesirable NVH. Grease before installation and with each oil service with high-quality Moly grease for maximum service life. Sway bars transmit cornering forces from the outside wheels to the inside wheels, helping to keep the vehicle flat during cornering. This in turn reduces body roll and improves the driver's cornering confidence. OEM rubber sway bar bushings are designed with comfort in mind, allowing the sway bar to articulate while permitting additional movement, leading to less-than-ideal bar retention and causes unnecessary body roll.

Powerflex polyurethane sway bar bushings are firmer than factory rubber bushings, reducing body roll and keeping sway bars in check. Polyurethane bushings won't slop around like OEM bushings, allowing sway bars to function at their fullest potential.

Poweflex is a leading manufacturer of aftermarket suspension bushings. Using state of the art design and manufacturing, all replacement bushings are engineered to out-perform and out-last the ones that came in the car. Each line of bushings is meticulously tested and then re-tested to ensure perfect fitment and enduring quality through the life of the vehicle. Want a race-spec rear shock mount but with the comfort of a factory bushing? This ECS rear shock mount combines the precision and articulation of a spherical bearing with the isolation of urethane bushings. The stainless monoball bearing is lined with PTFE lubricant and suspended in 80A urethane and housed in a hard anodized 6061-T6 aluminum mount. The spherical bearing is a better design than most rear shock mounts because it allows the shock to move and tilt without side-loading the shock shaft (which leads to premature failure of the shock). Most Genuine BMW and aftermarket shock mounts are not designed for shock angles and the stress that track or performance driving will put on the shock shaft. The ECS shock mount is properly designed to handle these loads. The internal bearing is also replaceable - it will be years before you have to replace the entire mount. The ECS mount is fully encapsulated to prevent the common shock mount failure of the stock mount design.

ECS RSM features:

  • Maintenance free, PTFE lined, stainless steel monoball spherical bearing for full shaft articulation
  • 80A polyurethane isolation bushings for NVH control
  • Accommodates 10mm, 12mm, or 14mm damper shafts
  • Fully constrained shaft mount makes RSM blow out impossible
  • Hard anodized 6061-T6 construction
  • Fully rebuildable design

* - the RSM comes with the BMW standard 10mm shock shaft bushings. 12mm is used on some performance shocks and 14mm is used on some true motorsport rear shocks.

Control arm bushing brackets do not typically wear or fatigue. But we sell replacement brackets as a convenience to go with new bushings (press one bushing instead of pressing out the old). For racers it's a great idea to keep a spare set of bushings with brackets on hand since pressing bushings at a racetrack is not ideal. Keep a spare set to avoid hassle and downtime.

Here at Turner we understand the importance of an upgrade that will get the results you need on the track and still be tolerable on the drive around town. When it comes to control arms on the track, making them as stiff as you can (usually using solid mounts) is the best way to increase your driving precision by eliminating the deflection of rubber. The next best thing to create a balance would be to stiffen up the control arm with polyurethane, giving you the option of a more stock like feel with 80a or closer to the solid feel with 95a durometers.

When it comes to the E36 chassis you also get the options of choosing a stock centered design or going with the E30 inspired offset bushing to increase castor, further taking advantage of improvd handling. These poly bushings will give your control arms a direct connection between your suspension and the body of the car eliminating the slop felt under take-off and braking so you feel more in control of your vehicle.

This item fits the following BMWs that use a centered-style bushing:

1984-1991 E30 BMW 318i, 318is, 325, 325e, 325es, 325i, 325is

For BMW E46 (3 Series), Z4, and X3, upgrading to Powerflex rear subframe rear bushings is an effective way to improve the durability and handling of the suspension system. Powerflex polyurethane bushings are a popular upgrade over the factory rubber bushings, offering enhanced performance and longevity, particularly for cars used in performance driving or that are susceptible to subframe wear.

Features and Benefits of Powerflex Rear Subframe Rear Bushings:

  • High-Performance Polyurethane Material: Powerflex bushings are constructed from polyurethane, which is significantly more resistant to deterioration than rubber. Polyurethane is less affected by elements like heat, road debris, and oils, ensuring that the bushings maintain their performance characteristics for much longer.
  • Enhanced Handling Precision: One of the primary benefits of polyurethane bushings is reduced subframe movement. By replacing the flexible rubber bushings with stiffer polyurethane versions, you’ll experience sharper handling, more precise suspension response, and improved chassis control, especially during hard acceleration, cornering, and braking.
  • Reduced Subframe Flex: The rear subframe is subjected to significant forces, particularly under high-performance driving conditions. Powerflex bushings help reduce the flex that can occur in the subframe, keeping the rear end more stable, improving vehicle control, and enhancing cornering performance.
  • Longevity and Reliability: Powerflex bushings are engineered to outlast the stock rubber bushings by a significant margin. They are designed to endure the demands of high-performance driving without deteriorating, which leads to fewer replacements over the life of the vehicle.
  • Optimized NVH Balance: While stiffer than rubber bushings, Powerflex designs its bushings to minimize the increase in noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH). This ensures that the bushings provide improved handling without compromising ride comfort, making them suitable for daily drivers as well as performance-focused cars.

Installation Considerations:

  • Direct Replacement: Powerflex bushings are manufactured to be direct replacements for the factory bushings, meaning they fit into the stock locations without modification. However, accessing the rear subframe for installation can be a complex task, often requiring the subframe to be dropped, so professional installation is recommended.
  • Subframe Reinforcement: For vehicles like the BMW E46, known for rear subframe cracking, many owners choose to upgrade their bushings alongside subframe reinforcement plates. This combination helps prevent the stress fractures that can occur in the mounting points.

Applications:

  • BMW E46 (3 Series)
  • BMW Z4 (E85/E86)
  • BMW X3 (E83)

Suitable For:

  • Daily Driving and Performance Use: Whether you're using your BMW for spirited street driving or taking it to the track, Powerflex rear subframe rear bushings provide improved handling and stability without significantly increasing NVH.
  • Subframe Longevity: If your car is prone to subframe issues or you want to take preventive measures, upgrading to these bushings will help reduce the wear on critical suspension components, extending the life of the subframe and related parts.

By upgrading to Powerflex rear subframe rear bushings, BMW E46, Z4, and X3 owners can expect improved handling, reduced subframe flex, and longer-lasting suspension performance, making it an ideal upgrade for both street and track use. These bushings strike a great balance between enhancing performance while maintaining daily driving comfort.

A full lifetime warranty backs every one of their products and demonstrates the level of confidence and commitment Powerflex has to their customers.

Bilstein has teamed up with Eibach to offer matched shock and spring packages. These Eibach springs are mated to a special set of Bilstein shocks to deliver a sporty and taut ride with as little impact on ride comfort as possible.

The Pro Kit uses an Eibach Pro Kit spring with Bilstein's Sport shocks and struts. Instead of taking parts from different manufacturers, Bilstein has tested the performance of the Eibach spring and tailored their shocks to be a true match for the new spring rate and ride height. This is known as a matched shock and spring and very few tuning companies take these extra steps. Eibach springs tend to be softer overall than most other aftermarket springs, which ensures the ride stays close to a stock comfort while still giving you a lowered stance and improved handling.

Bilstein B12 Features:

  • Precise response and excellent driving performance
  • Springs and shocks road tested and fine-tuned to complement one another
  • Bilstein Monotube/Inverted gas pressure technology
  • TUV certified
  • Made In Germany
  • Average Lowering of 25 to 40mm

Most cars don't need coil overs to improve their handling and bodyroll. For most drivers, simply replacing the shocks and springs with performance versions will meet their goals. If your shocks need replacing, and you felt the handling could be improved a little bit, this is an excellent performance suspension for you.

Trailing arm bushings play a key role in connecting the wheels to the chassis of the vehicle. Tasked with keeping suspension geometry in check while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber bushings were engineered to provide a balance of comfort and control. As a factory bushing ages, it becomes brittle and begins to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play in the suspension joint. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk forward after the car comes to a stop and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushing with a full polyurethane unit or using a bushing insert, this play is eliminated since the suspension joint is being supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver.

Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Expect improved steering feel, turn in, more responsive handling and overall improved chassis composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings.

This aluminum spring seat fits between upper and lower 60mm springs to "join" them together. Typically you would have a main spring on top and a tender or helper spring on the bottom (or vice-versa). The spring joiner, or locator ring, fits between the springs with a retaining lip on the inside. We like this design better than an outside spring joiner because it's lighter and there's no material sitting on the outside where a tire might come in contact with it. These are priced per each.

One of the tricks for getting your BMW to handle better is to add negative camber to the front wheels. This will put more of the tire's width in contact with the ground during cornering. With more rubber there is more grip. BMWs typically have less camber in the front to create understeer. But if you're running a stock setup on the track or autocross you are giving up speed and time as the front tires run out of grip sooner than they should. Made from aircraft grade aluminium, with stainless steels strut inserts and hardware for the ultimate in durability for street or track use. The built in reinforcement plate reduces the stress on the shock tower to reduce the chance of the shock towers tearing. With a maximum adjustment rang of -1.5 degrees camber per side, these plates will allow you to get your suspension right where you need it. NOTE: Will not fit with Bilstein Struts/Shocks. Can only be used with Linear style springs. Will not fit OE-Style Progressive / Barrel style springs. Fits the following BMW's 1992-1999 E36 BMW - 318ti 318i/is/ic 323i/is/ic 325i/is 328i/is/ic M3 2006-2013 E9X BMW - 325i/xi 328i/xi 330i/xi 335i/is/ix M3

This is typically felt by a sudden jerk or "thunking" noise under acceleration and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel.
