Race pads work in the temperature ranges commonly seen from repeated braking from high speeds on the racetrack. It's the repeated hard braking from very high speeds that requires a very special brake pad. Nearly all street and mixed-use pads will become ineffective at serious track speeds. Racing brake pads are made up of metallic, ceramic, and composite materials that better manage escalating temperatures while also providing exceptional braking performance. Race pads work within a prescribed temperature range (usually in excess of 600*F) - seldom seen on the street. Rotor wear, especially when cold, is significantly more than any other pad. These pads also produce a lot of brake dust which is also corrosive to paint finishes (wheels, fenders, etc). However, when in their temperature ranges, these pads stop better than anything else.

Racing brake pads only work well when matched as a front and rear set. We do not recommend using only a front set when on the track. Although in some situations, mixing race compounds can be done to achieve specific results (brake balance, wheel lock-up, turn-in, etc).

Ceramic material provides better braking performance, minimized noise, and a noticeable reduction in brake dust. OE equivalent friction formulations are specifically engineered to enhance braking power, minimize braking distances and provide quiet, safe braking in all road conditions. Brembo pads are thermal scorched to minimize break in period and reduce fading. Direct molding pressing guarantees maximum product accuracy Underlayer provides noise dampening and reduces heat transfer to the caliper. Brembo multi-layer ESE shim ( Elastomer-Steel-Elastomer ) minimizes vibrations and noise. Brembo pads and shoes are homologated in compliance with ECE-R90 legislation and are marked accordingly for easy identification.

An evolution of the RSL19 endurance pad designed for more advanced drivers. This compound combines the outstanding wear rate of the RSL19 with a slightly higher coefficient of friction and initial bite. RSL29 also features improved hot fade resistance over the RSL19. In addition to the endurance racing, this pad will also be found in GT and VLN classes and Touring Cars (including our own E46 World Challenge cars). BMW has been using Pagid Yellow pads on their Nurburgring test vehicles and Ring Taxi for years.

The DTC pads offer extremely high torque with aggressive controllable initial bite, superior release and torque control characteristics. These DTC-60 pads have less torque than the similar DTC-70 pads.

The RST pads feature very high friction levels for the quickest bite and highest fade resistance than any other Pagid pad. RST pads are broken into 5 levels and all have ranging bite and release characteristics. RST pads will trade low wear for torque output and faster response. These were developed based on the needs of race engineers in World Challenge, Daytona Prototype, and GTLM where functional aero meant high grip in the corners and smaller braking zones.

    RST Brake Pad Types:

    • RST1 -  Very high friction coefficient, high initial bite, progressive torque curve, very high fade resistant
    • RST2 - Medium high friction coefficient, good initial bite, mild progressive torque curve, good pedal feel
    • RST3 - High friction coefficient, good initial bite, low heat conductivity, excellent modulation and release characteristics
    • RST4 - Medium friction coefficient, good initial bite, mild progressive torque curve, high heat tolerance with consistent feel
    • RST5 - Optimum thermal management, absolutely fluid fade resistant, highly developed recovery properties, extremely high friction coefficient

    The EBC Greenstuff pad is an excellent pad for improvement over the stock pads. Regarded as a first-level improvement, these pads can provide up to 15% better stopping power. Not a hard or extremely long-lasting pad, the EBC Greenstuff will show improved pedal feel on lighter cars at lower speeds. Medium dusting, they will emit about the same amount of dust as a regular replacement pad but with better brake effect. Even with a mild performance motor, they will provide effective stopping in daily driving situations. Because they are just a little bit softer than a stock replacement pad, they will provide excellent rotor wear and life. A great solution for entry into performance brake pads without upgrading rotors or other equipment.

It has stable friction over a broad temperature range which makes them a very easy to use and predictable braking pad in a lot of environments. An evolution of the RSL19 endurance pad designed for more advanced drivers. This compound combines the outstanding wear rate of the RSL19 with a slightly higher coefficient of friction and initial bite. RSL29 also features improved hot fade resistance over the RSL19. In addition to the endurance racing, this pad will also be found in GT and VLN classes and Touring Cars (including our own E46 World Challenge cars). BMW has been using Pagid Yellow pads on their Nurburgring test vehicles and Ring Taxi for years.

    The latest in the Yellow line takes all of the RSL29 characteristics and adds a bit more aggressive behavior. Friction levels go up for more initial bite and better fade resistance. Modulation and release stays close to RSL29 levels. Pad and rotor wear is a little more than on the previous Yellows but still within reasonable levels and the RSL1 is still considered an extended endurance pad. Its development stemming from GT classes at Le Mans and Nürburgring.

    Since Pagid pads tend to "out-gas" we recommend using these pads with a new gas-slotted or cross-drilled rotor for the best performance. Pagid brake pads are not compatible with previously used rotors, especially if used with a carbon or Kevlar based race pad.
