The Genuine BMW automatic transmission oil pan with transmission filter holds the transmission fluid and houses the integrated filter that keeps fluid clean for the gearbox.

The original pan and filter are the parts that collect metal particles and degrade the fluid over time. Replacing the pan with the Genuine BMW unit restores the factory filtration and sealing so the transmission runs with clean fluid and a sealed pan.

Replace the pan and filter together while the fluid is drained so the new filter starts with fresh fluid.
