Stainless steel filtration is not a new technology but is quickly gaining popularity in the automotive segment. With the ability to filter down as small as a paper filter element with the ability to be washed and reused!
The K&P Engineering filter element is made from medical grade, type 304 stainless steel micronic filter cloth to provide unmatched protection against oil contamination and resultant engine damage. A one inch square of this material flows an incredible 1.9 gallons of oil per minute at only 1 PSI pump pressure. The adhesive used in the filter assembly process is good to 600 degrees Fahrenheit, far above normal engine operating temperatures. A super strength nickel-plated neodymium rare earth magnet is installed in the top of the element for magnetic pre-filtering of the oil. The sophisticated bypass is engineered for proper differential pressures and consistent operation, delivering a greater percentage of filtered oil while being very easy to clean. The twist lock design assures positive filter element placement and allows for easy disassembly, inspection, and cleaning. The quad-ring gasket doubles the seal between the filter and the engine. Finally, the filter housing is carved out of solid 6061T6 billet aluminum, which not only looks trick but aids in dissipating heat.

RedLine 15W50 synthetic motor oil. We have been using RedLine 15w50 Oil in our street cars and race cars for years. Hands-down, it is the Number One brand of high performance lubricant for BMWs. The ultimate high-temperature protection in Red Line engine oils recommended for street use. Good for engines that regularly run very high oil temperatures. Best for engines that run large clearances such as air-cooled engines or large-displacement, all-out racing engines that see occasional street use. Provides 25% more viscosity in bearings than petroleum 20W-50s. Not recommended for use in cold climates where temperatures are at or below 10*F or -12*C. Not recommended for street use in production engines that see sustained oil temperatures below 225*F (those engines should use Red Line 10W-30 or 10W-40). Synthetic D4 ATF is suitable for use where Dexron III, Dexron II, or Mercon fluids are recommended. ATF D4 is similar to Red Line's MTL formula and can be used in many BMW manual transmissions where MTF or MTF-LT2 is called for. Group A racecars were the top of their class in both touring car and rally racing. Heavily modified and extremely fast these cars set out to demonstrate the best of what a manufacturer could do on the racetrack. It was the predecessor to the current DTM class racing and set a standard for many other divisions of motorsport to follow.
One of the weaker points of the S14 engine, when speaking from a racing standpoint is the belt drive system. While fine for a street going car, a V-belt is not suitable for high RPM applications. On the track, most of your time will be spent in the higher rev range which puts extreme amounts of stress on the factory setup. BMW realised this and came up with a solution that involved doing away with the V belt system and using a 6 rib serpentine style instead.
Extremely resistant to slippage and failure this design holds up much better the abuse of track duty and won't leave you stranded and waiting for tow back to the pit. Additionally, this kit does not accommodate and a/c compressor and the alternator and waterpump are underdriven by way of slightly larger pulleys. Combined, this puts less of a load on the crankshaft which leads to more efficient power delivery to the ground. If you track you E30 M3, this is an essential upgrade and until now was extremely difficult to source. Do not skip this pivotal step in your engine build or overhaul and get a leg up on the competition the Group A way.
