Working with Competition Clutch, DKM clutch discs and plates are constructed using quality materials to obtain greater strength and heat tolerance than OE clutches, helping to prevent wear and tear while still giving you increased toque capacity for quicker shifts and more power management.
Stage 1 Kits are best for moderately modified vehicles that want to add a single mass flywheel for quicker revs and a sportier engagement, without adversely affecting the clutch pedal's feel. *This is a 10 Spline clutch kit.*

Stock rubber flex discs allow for a slight amount of give, especially under heavy acceleration and, depending on the amount of force applied, could potentially tear or split. This slight flex/give can prevent instantaneous transfer of force to the wheels, making accelerations unpredictable, or even lead to your vehicle being stuck on the side of the track. To combat this, IRP's Performance Flex Disc was developed. Made of CNC machined aluminum, this flex disc won't actually flex, and the polyurethane bushings will only provide a enough give to dampen some vibrations and prevent damaging the transmission. This is perfect for high torque applications such a drag cars and dedicated track cars that want immediate response and long term reliability.

These are the stock rubber motor mounts. When motor mounts begin to wear the engine can shift and contact other things in the engine compartment, mostly cooling-related parts. This is especially troublesome on older models. Don't neglect your motor mounts! A worn motor mount allows the engine to twist and shift around. The harder you're driving the more shift will occur. Twisting of the engine can also lead to shifting problems as the transmission twists with it. The heavy duty pressure plate included offers a 20-50% clamp load increase, stock-moderate pedal feel, and heat treated diaphragms for increased strength and performance.
Next in this kit is the R6 racing clutch disc. This disc is an unsprung, rigid disc with 6 pads that is best suited for drag and road racing and handles heat better thanks to its increased surface contact area versus the 4 pad version of this disc, the R4. The R6 pads are composed of ceramic friction materials and the disc has a chome-moly hub that is heat treated for additional strength under high load engagements. Over stock, this disc is much better for faster shifting and significantly higher torque loads. Unlike the stock disc, this racing disk has a slightly shortened life span due to its rigid design and pad composition. This in turn is offset thanks to its fast, aggressive engagement for track use.

But over time the fluid leaks out and the strength of the mount is greatly reduced. A worn motor mount allows the engine to twist and shift around.
