This disc is an unsprung, rigid disc with 6 pads that is best suited for drag and road racing and handles heat better thanks to its increased surface contact area versus the 4 pad version of this disc, the R4. The R6 pads are composed of ceramic friction materials and the disc has a chome-moly hub that is heat treated for additional strength under high load engagements. Over stock, this disc is much better for faster shifting and significantly higher torque loads.
