BMW Intake Boots & Hoses for BMW 3 Series E36 (1992-1998)

The intake boot provides a pathway for air from the air flow sensor to the intake manifold. On most BMWs the boot is made of rubber with an accordian shape that allows the engine to shift and vibrate. As with any rubber component the rubber can dry out and crack and that can lead to serious running and drivability issues. A crack in the boot means that air is entering the engine that is not being monitored by the airflow sensor. The engine computer relies on data from the airflow sensor to set the fuel mixture in the engine. Excess unmetered air can result in lean condition faults, rough running, misfires, and other performance issues. For misfire and lean condition faults, check your intake boots first.

As an alternative to the original rubber, we also offer silicone boots that are both stronger and last longer with a 4-layer silicone design. Samco silicone boots can also decrease your BMW's intake turbulence and restriction by replacing the accordian design with a smoothed internal surface. Samco boots are also perfect as part of a kit to eliminate the factory traction control system (sometimes called an ASC delete boot).

The TMS E36/Z3 6cyl Intake Tube Plug is intended to be used in a variety of applications ranging from ASC delete, deleting the idle control valve in a car with a aftermarket engine management system, re-routing the PCV hose to a catch can, aftermarket supercharged engines, or simply plugging one of the hose provisions in the E36 6cyl intake tubes. It also works great as a coolant hose plug. The diameter of the tip is 20mm (just over 3/4"). A low profile Oetker compression clamp is included. The plug can be drilled and tapped for a small air temp/water temp sensor, pre throttle body vacuum/boost/MAP sensor barb, or water alcohol/nitrous/methanol injector or barb. Works with M50, M50TU S52, M52, S52 throttle boots and may work in other applications with a 20mm hose.

TCEuropean was founded in 2021 by two University of Michigan Mechanical Engineers passionate about BMW and the community of BMW owners. Currently specializing on the E30 and E36 chassis, they soon realized that their dream was to upgrade, restore, and leave their mark on these iconic automobiles. When removing the ASC system from your E36 properly, this includes installation of a non-ASC Throttle Body and a proper length Intake boot to match. The E36's ASC system uses an auxiliary throttle body to cut throttle during wheel slip. This, however, results in power cuts at unexpected times leading to a frustrating and less connected driving experience. By removing the ASC throttle body, you can prevent power cuts and has an added benefit of slightly improving flow to the engine. This ASC delete boot by TCEuro is designed to fit all M5x/S5x engines with the non ASC throttle body.
