Our sealed Monoball Rear Trailing Arm Bushings (RTAB) are the best solution for completely eliminating deflection and unwanted toe changes on the rear of the E36, E46, and Z4. While rubber and urethane bushings flex during load, the toe can change widely giving you nervous and unpredictable handling. These RTABs have a solid aluminum housing with a high-quality sealed OE bearing. These bushings were developed from years of competition use in various racing and HPDE events. There is simply no better RTAB unless your racing class rules prohibit the use of mono or spherical bearings.

The rear trailing arm bushings take a lot of abuse from acclerating, braking and cornering. The stock rubber bushings are just not up to the task of keeping rear wheel alignment in spec for very long, especially if you have upgraded to stickier tires and a better suspension. The pliable rubber flexes and twists which slows down reaction time and leaves you with a car that feels nervous and 'tail happy'. Urethane helps to control the alignment but issues with fitment, maintenance, and longevity keep us from recommending urethane on anything but a street car. We also offer a Delrin RTAB for cars that must conform to certain racing class rules. These sealed spherical bearings are the best at controlling rear toe alignment.

Our aluminum RTABs are very well made - high grade aluminum alloy and steel CNC'd out of a billet by an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer, each component is either hardcoated or nickel plated. While multiple manufacturers offer two piece designs, our research showed that a one piece bushing is a better design featuring a sealed bearing to keep contaminants out extending the life of the bearing.

Features:

Key Benefits:

  • Rear Trailing Arm Monoball eliminates unwanted deflection, maintaining alignment settings and minimizing wheel hop.
  • Allows full rear trailing arm articulation for low friction movement and eliminates binding found in rubber and poly bushings.
  • Completely streetable: utilizes an OES Lemforder brand sealed, greased ball joint for an extremely long service life with no increase to NVH.

Design Features:

  • Housing: Billet CNC 6061-T6 aluminum, type II anodized for exceptional durability and corrosion resistance
  • Bearing: OE Mercedes/lemforder 2043520027 Sealed ball joint
  • Bearing inserts: CNC machined 303 stainless steel.
  • Rebuildable

E36/E46/Z4, including M models, rear lower control arm (camber arm, wishbone). This is a direct replacement for the stock arm and includes the inner bushing. These arms are designed to be slightly weak and flimsy as they will absorb impact energy. It's better for this arm to absorb an impact rather than the wheel or trailing arm, or subframe, etc. Also, unknowing tow truck drivers like to use this part to hook their chains on to. Consequently they bend as easily as a coat hanger. An OEM replacement from Lemförder is the perfect option to restore control and suspension quality.

OEM Lemförder is an engineering company that focuses on high-quality, precision manufacturing of critical suspension and steering components. Providing exceptionally high quality parts directly to BMW, as well as 50+ other big name automotive companies, such as Mercedes and Audi, their history of reliability and variety of offered parts makes them one of the biggest names for a go-to OEM parts provider. Lemförder parts place an important emphasis on design, production, and assembly, ensuring maximum reliability. They even coat all parts possible with corrosion protection for extended longevity.

As a leading source of high performance BMW parts and accessories since 1993, we at Turner Motorsport are honored to be the go-to supplier for tens of thousands of enthusiasts the world over. With over two decades of parts, service, and racing experience under our belt, we provide only quality performance and replacement parts.  All of our performance parts are those we would (and do!) install and run on our own cars, as well as replacement parts that are Genuine BMW or from OEM manufacturers. Stock rear lower control arms offer very little adjustment for alignment, especially in lowered vehicles, due to their use of an eccentric bolt. These aftermarket performance control arms from ECS Tuning are designed for maximum adjustability, allowing you to maximize handling and minimize tire wear.

To ensure maximum reliability, ECS Tuning's control arms are constructed from strong, lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum and feature a 303 stainless steel center turnbuckle that offers over 8 degrees of fast and precise camber adjustment. The inner bushing is a stock style serviceable OEM bushing for long life and inexpensive maintenance.

Features:

Durable construction suitable for the daily driver and track car alike
8+ degrees adjustment range for dialing in any suspension and wheel/tire setup
Center located adjuster for maximum clearance during adjustment
OEM-style bushing for long life and inexpensive service
Black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum with 303 stainless steel turnbuckle
Includes new hardware
*With the exception of the stance community, most enthusiasts will need no more than a few degrees of adjustment range. Total adjustment often is dependent on wheel/tire clearances.

Made in the USA TMS rear subframe bearings are designed to limit rear control arm movement relative to the subframe. The stock BMW subframe bushings are made out of rubber, which allows variance in suspension position due to deformation and compression. A race car needs to have all suspension points remain in place for proper setup. By using high grade aircraft aluminum alloy and high performance race bearings, the TMS bushing replacements are both lightweight and strong. The casing is designed so that if maximum motion occurs, the load will be evenly distributed throughout the casing. Our flanges are designed to spread the load on the subframe and limit movement. The bearing we use is an extra wide race bearing to distribute the load over a broader area. Each piece is anodized or nickel plated to withstand corrosion. These bushings are a perfect compliment to the TMS lower camber arms.

The E36/E46 rear trailing arm bushings (RTABs) wear out faster than any other bushing on the car. Worn RTAB will cause excessive toe alignment change and give a 'loose' or 'floaty' feeling in the rear handling. One of the reasons for this is that they over-extend during motion, stretching and twisting the rubber in all directions. These shims sit on either side of the bushing and limit the amount of extension from the bushing. Not only will you get more life from your RTAB but these will help stiffen the bushing during cornering. But during normal driving you will still have all of the comfort of the stock rubber bushings. These part about these bushings is how easy they are to install - simply slide them in place during your bushing install. They can be added to pre-installed bushings too by dropping the trailing arm and removing the cage around the bushing.

Works with stock rubber bushings only (not urethane or Delrin).

The stock Genuine BMW rear lower wishbone control arms (33326770813) are great for standard daily driving and occasional spirited driving, but they tend to fall flat on the track due to the soft rubber bushings causing excess deflection, creating undesirable handling characteristics. In order to address this issue, Turner now offers new Performance Rear Camber Arms (V2) with upgraded FK Spherical Bearings! These camber arms offer multiple benefits over the stock control arms, helping to keep your BMW under control and on the track. The upgraded Turner camber arms offer an increased range of rear camber adjustment, necessary for lowered cars and performance alignments to maintain proper rear camber and reduce tire wear on the street and track. This provides increased stability and predictability to the rear suspension for tighter handling. These camber arms feature gun-drilled 2024 Aluminum center links, clamps, and clevises, along with a 360-degree rotating clamp system. This combination provides superior strength, performance, durability, and ease of adjustment. No annoying jam nuts! A simple 3/16" Allen-key is all that is required to lock down your alignment settings. FK Spherical Rod Ends are utilized to reduce alignment change in the rear suspension under hard cornering, acceleration, and braking. They feature a Teflon liner to provide quiet operation, low friction, smooth articulation, and eliminate bushing deflection under load. The PTFE liner is chemically bonded to the inner diameter of the race, offering a very high load carrying capacity and greatly increased dynamic wear characteristics. This results in robust reliability for and track use! (Not recommended for street use due to increased NVH) Adjustable Rear Camber Arm Features: Lightweight Aluminum and Stainless Steel construction Anodized Blue for corrosion protection and durable finish Gun drilled center hex links for maximum weight savings Teflon lined FK Rod Ends

Rear trailing arm bushings serve the key purpose of keeping rear suspension triangulated and the vehicle moving where it's directed to. Though failure prone, even factory-fresh OEM rubber bushings allow for deflection, causing suspension geometry changes on hard launches, over bumps in the road, and during cornering. This deflection results in clunking in the rear end, a “rear steer” feeling, and uneven tire wear.

Powerflex polyurethane rear trailing arm bushings are firmer than OEM bushings, resulting in a reduction of deflection that causes these suspension angle changes, improving handling over bumps and with a proper alignment, extending tire wear.

Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Expect improved steering feel, turn in, more responsive handling and overall improved chassis composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings.

Poweflex is a leading manufacturer of aftermarket suspension bushings. Using state of the art design and manufacturing, all replacement bushings are engineered to out-perform and out-last the ones that came in the car. Each line of bushings is meticulously tested and then re-tested to ensure perfect fitment and enduring quality through the life of the vehicle. If you're experiencing a "loose" feeling when going around corners, these are the likely culprit. The rear bushings on these cars will wear out just like any other bushing. When this happens, the rear toe (the angle that the tire points in or out) will vary under load. These M3 bushings are more durable than the stock bushings and hold up better than the original bushings. These rear trailing arm bushings (often referred to as RTAB) are listed as the replacement to BMW part numbers  33322228153  and  33-32-2-228-153 .

This is the most up to date version of this bushing from Lemfoerder. We recommend professional installation as these now require special tools for installation.

Trailing arm bushings play a key role in connecting the wheels to the chassis of the vehicle. Tasked with keeping suspension geometry in check while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber bushings were engineered to provide a balance of comfort and control. As a factory bushing ages, it becomes brittle and begins to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play in the suspension joint. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk forward after the car comes to a stop and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushing with a full polyurethane unit or using a bushing insert, this play is eliminated since the suspension joint is being supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver.

Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Rear Suspension Mounts With No Flex or Deflection for Improved Handling, Response, and Long Life
Building a track-only or racecar means swapping out the flexible rubber bushings and mounts for non-distorting solid pieces. The stock rubber bushings have serious drawbacks when used hard on the racetrack - they wear out quickly, and the flexible material allows extreme changes in alignment. Switching to solid bushings will eliminate the deflection and flex, keeping the suspension motions in their intended alignment and providing more feedback to the driver. On the E36, solid bushings can help prevent rear subframe failure as the sheetmetal chassis will no longer flex along with the rubber mount. Depending on the bushing's intended purpose, the material we use is either aluminum or Delrin. Delrin is a dense plastic material that has almost zero deflection and long life. It's self-lubricating so it won't ever need grease or lube. All of our bushings are designed by our in-house R&D engineers and tested on our various racing cars, with many used in professional racing series around the world.

If you're building a car for a racing class, the parts and materials you can change to are specified in the rules. Consult your rulebook or tech steward for any clarification. As these bushings have no play or deflection in them, they are not intended for street-focused cars - they do not absorb impacts and vibration like rubber will.

We offer bushings for the following suspension points -
subframe mounts x 4 (aluminum)
inner-upper control arm bushings x 2 (aluminum with bearing)
differential mounts x 3 (1 Delrin, 2 aluminum)
outer upper/lower control arm bushings x 4 (OE-spec replacements) (steel with bearing)
trailing arm bushings (RTABs) x 2 (aluminum with bearing or Delrin)
suggested: front control arm bushings (FCABs) (Delrin)
suggested: rear shock mounts (RSMs) x 2 (aluminum with bearing)

Notes
Note 1: there is also a inner-lower camber arm bushing. We never developed a solid bushing for this point because every racing class allows adjustable camber arms to be used in this location and we offer those with solid inner bushings.
Note 2: some racing classes require a non-bearing bushing for the rear trailing arm bushings. In cases like this, we use a Delrin bushing.
Note 3: the outer upper and lower bushings are already a monoball-style bearing from the factory on all M3 models. They are a great design and last a long time. We offer them as direct replacements or as upgrades for the non-M3 models.
