Building your perfect BMW is more than just adding horsepower and stiff suspension. Your drivetrain needs attention in order to deliver power effectively. Most BMWs feature comfortable clutch discs, heavy flywheels, long shifter throws, and open differentials. The drivetrain transmits power to the wheels, but can also be a source of power loss when it is designed for comfort rather than performance. Everything on this page will help you improve your power delivery and driving experience by providing custom Limited Slip Differentials, Short Shift Conversions, Performance Clutch Discs, Lightweight Flywheels, and anything else your BMW needs to be the perfect driving experience.

The clutch master cylinder is the starting point of your clutch’s hydraulic system, translating pedal pressure into fluid movement that reaches the slave cylinder and engages the clutch pack. As these units age, they can develop leaks—making replacement the most effective way to restore proper clutch operation. Brake and hydraulic fluid are highly corrosive, and over time, they can break down the rubber seals inside the master cylinder. When these seals fail, fluid pressure drops, leading to poor clutch engagement and possible fluid leakage past the seals. Replacing a worn clutch master cylinder can dramatically improve shifting feel and drivability. Note: When installing a new unit, you’ll need to bleed the system to remove air from the lines, and you may lose some fluid in the process. Be sure to have fresh brake fluid on hand to top off and restore full clutch performance.

In vehicles equipped with hydraulic clutches, the slave cylinder uses fluid pressure to transfer pedal movement to the clutch pack, delivering smoother and more comfortable engagement. However, over time, the corrosive nature of brake fluid can degrade internal seals, leading to leaks or complete failure. If you're experiencing these issues, the most effective fix is to replace the faulty component.
