This radiator is the OEM Hella replacement for the stock radiator in the E60 545i and E63 645ci and E65 745i. The N73/74 V12 engine water pipes could often fail at lower mileages, leaking a ton of coolant and prevent coolant flow to the rear of the engine block. If not addressed immediately, this could lead to engine overheating and complete failure. Unfortunately, these pipes are also very expensive and time consuming to replace when using the stock water pipe due to the amount of labor time needed for tear down and installation. Normally, replacing the seal on this pipe would require almost 40 hours of labor and involve removing the entire engine from the car, then removing the cylinder heads, and timing covers.
