BMW Drive Belts & V-Belts for BMW 1 Series E82 (2008-2013)

Your BMW's drive belts are wear items, and will degrade and crack over time. Don't wait until you have a belt failure... don't get stranded! Replacing your BMW's belts, such as the alternator belt, power steering belt, air conditioning AC belt, or serpentine belt is a low cost insurance policy to preventing a break down -- or worse, engine damage. We recommend checking your belts every 10,000 miles. If your belts have excessive cracks, dry rot, missing teeth and/or grooves, are cause noise, it's time for new ones.

While also inspecting your serpentine belts, also check for wear or resistance in the pulleys. The tensioner pulley and deflection pulley are the primary sources for belt squealing. The rubber-isolated pulleys can also break apart, leading to total belt failure. Vargas has introduced their new Billet Power Steering pulleys for the N54 engine! A well-known issue with the N54 with Hydraulic power steering is the plastic pulley either hitting the subframe, or breaking on its own. This can result in the belt to be ejected from the pulley, and leave you stranded with no serpentine belt. This also increases the chance of sucking the belt into the engine through the front seal. Put an end to the dreaded plastic PS pulley issues with the VTT 100% Billet Aluminum PS pulley. These are constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum and anodize in one of 4 colors (Black, Red, Blue, and Clear) for a great look, and long-lasting finish. These weigh 11oz, very close to the weight of a stock pulley, and are lighter than the cast aluminum versions on the market.
