The intake manifold takes incoming air from the intake and distributes it to each cylinder. Over the years the manifolds have gotten more sophisticated and complex. Most of the additional work that it does is emissions-related - recirculating vapors back into the engine to be re-used. But there are also performance innovations such as BMW's DISA variable intake runners. All of the modern innovations have a part behind it and here you will find replacement components.

In some BMW models there are performance improvements with intake manifolds. These intake manifold upgrades use mostly BMW parts and are a direct replacement for your stock manifold. We offer manifolds and kits to make the conversion work easier.

The DISA Valve adjusts the intake manifold runner length to improve performance. When it fails it can lead to a rough idle and perhaps an engine fault code light. This adjusting unit fits cars with N52 or N51 engine - not N52N models. This is the smaller of the 2 DISA Valves on this motor, it is considered the "Upper Disa valve". The lower DISA valve is part number 11617579114 From 1974 to 2019, Bavarian Autosport was one of the premier vendors for BMW and MINI auto parts. The Precision Raceworks Phenolic Spacer is made in the USA from premium fiber impregnated phenolic material. With a Rockwell Hardness of 100 and a conductivity rating of 2.03 it is the perfect material for insulating between heat generating parts such as the cylinder head and other parts you wish to stay cool like the intake manifold. A phenolic spacer works by reducing heat transfer from the cylinder head to the manifold which results in reduction of intake air temperature, allowing for cooler air to enter the cylinders which is more dense and reduces chance of detonation in the cylinder. Our 1/2" phenolic spacer not only provides a thermal insulation between the cylinder head and intake plenum. It has also been designed to make use of factory O-Rings rather than messy gasket maker adhesive to ensure an air tight seal each and every time along with easy installation and removal.

The E90 330i had the highest horsepower out of the N52-powered vehicles. The reason for this was while the 128i, 325i, 328i, 525i, and 528i received a single-stage manifold, the 330i was gifted a 3-stage manifold. A 3-stage manifold consisted of 2 DISA valves that would divert air to the cylinders that needed it. With more air going to the appropriate cylinders and fuel adjustments by the ECU, this valve system helps extract the most power from the N52. The OEM plastic PCV valve does not hold pressure well even when brand new. What this means is that when the turbochargers are making boost, pressurized air can become forced backwards through the valve and back into the crankcase. Depending on the condition of your PCV valve this can range from irritating to dangerous as a pressurized case can cause all sorts of issues. Additionally, if your valve cover is cracked due to age or has a bad gasket you are more than likely experiencing a pressure leak either internally or externally. These two features can cause even a low-mileage N54 to run like a tired elephant, sometimes even unlocking a special bonus function known as "Limp Mode". The solution is to replace any failed components and upgrade the PCV valve to something more capable withstanding the abuse of a turbocharged environment. FTP Motorsport has you covered with this solid aluminum valve assembly. It is essentially the same thing that came in your car from the factory, made out of aluminum. The internal components have also been made to fit tighter and outlast the life of an off the shelf replacement. No, this won't be the very last PCV valve you buy, but it will most certainly alleviate a lot of headaches common to N54 owners. And if you're tuned, big twin or single swapped you need one of these yesterday.
