The camshafts are responsible for opening and closing the valves in time with the movement of the pistons. Sometimes the lobes can become worn or scored, necessitating a replacement of the entire shaft. Performance options are also available with more aggressive cam profiles that allow increased lift and duration.
E46 M3 Schrick high-performance racing camshaft set - 288 degree intake and 280 degree exhaust. These camshafts are for use in professionally-built E46 M3 race engines. Schrick has developed these ultra-aggressive S54 race cams with 14mm of valve lift. Because of the aggressive profile and specs of this cam, Schrick only recommends them be used with special custom pistons with deep valve reliefs. We strongly recommend these be professionally installed by an experienced engine builder to check clearances and fitment.

E46 M3 Schrick 304 Degree Exhaust Camshaft with 12.5mm lift. This cam is much more agressive than the "standard" Schrick intake cams. A new rocker arm is required (Schrick or new BMW part #11337833259).
