The tie rods in your vehicle translate the movement of the steering wheel through the rack and to your wheels. Oftentimes when a vehicle is beginning to experience some higher mileage, the tie rod ends begin to fail. This causes slop in the steering wheel and knocks and creaks in the steering system. Catastrophic tie rod end failure can cause serious damage and danger as the tie rod end keeps the wheel path straight. Replace your tie rods for some cheap insurance against dangerous failures. These tie rod ends will offer dramatic improvements over worn original units. Tighter, quieter steering and a more responsive wheel can be expected. A great way to stay safe on the road.

ECS Tuning Steering Rack Spacers – A Simple Upgrade for More Angle

Whether you're just beginning your drift journey or looking to refine your current angle kit, ECS Tuning's Steering Rack Spacers offer a simple yet effective solution. Installation is straightforward—just remove the inner tie rods and place the spacers with the chamfered side facing the tie rod for an instant angle boost.

During the development of their ECS E90 drift build, the team at ECS Tuning was eager to hit the track and start testing. On the first day of driving, it quickly became apparent that two essential upgrades were needed: a welded differential (which led to the creation of their custom-fit differential plates – (T#:35121162) and increased steering angle. However, rather than jumping straight into a full-angle kit, ECS focused on incremental improvements to fine-tune the car’s handling.

ECS engineers, including a beginner drifter, carefully measured and tested different spacer sizes to optimize angle while maintaining proper thread engagement on the inner tie rod. After extensive testing, they determined that 5mm was the sweet spot—providing the extra angle needed while ensuring a strong and secure connection.

For those looking to enhance their drift setup without committing to an expensive angle kit, ECS Steering Rack Spacers offer an affordable and effective solution.

Key Benefits:

Gain approximately 5° of extra steering angle on an otherwise stock setup
Budget-friendly alternative to expensive angle kits
Simple, bolt-on installation—no major modifications required
Works as a standalone mod or can be paired with angle kits for even greater gains
Design & Materials:

Material: Mild Steel
Finish: Zinc Coated for durability
Size: 5mm spacers
Take your drifting to the next level—one small upgrade at a time with ECS Tuning’s Steering Rack Spacers!
