If your valve cover is leaking oil or a bad seal is causing vacuum issues and check engine lights, we recommend replacing your seals with this complete valve cover gasket kit! This kit includes all of the main gaskets and o-ring seals used by BMW to seal your valve cover to the cylinder head. Included: Victor Reinz Left & Right Valve Cover Gaskets Genuine BMW Oil Separator Seal O-rings - Two Per Valve Cover Genuine BMW Crankshaft Position Sensor O-Rings - Two Per Valve Cover URO Spark Plug Tubes w/ Gaskets If you are not replacing your valve cover, we also recommend inspecting the grommets found on the valve cover bolts. Over time these can compress or split, leading to insufficient sealing of the valve cover to the cylinder head due to a lack of pressure. BMW does not offer these grommets separately from their individual valve cover bolts, but NRW Design came in clutch with their Silicone Valve Cover Grommet Kit.

We only offer parts we know you can trust to perform! One of the more common spots for oil leaks is from the oil filter housing where it meets the block. The filter housing meets the block and a profile gasket is supposed to keep the dirty oil from entering the engine and to retain the oil as it makes it way out and back into the block. Unfortunately, the dirty oil and contaminants can build up along the edge of the gasket and push it out of place. Heat around the various surfaces can also warp or shrink the gasket. In any event this spot is well-known for oil seepage and leaks. Replacement can be done on its own but is best tackled along with a new valve cover gasket (another common leak source). This replacement gasket and fits all N51, N52, N54, and N55 engines. As with many other BMW valve covers, replacing the M57 valve cover gasket requires numerous other parts to be removed before this gasket can be accessed. As you remove these parts, you expose other gaskets and components that can and should be replaced. This kit includes all of the gaskets, hardware, and a few other components we highly suggest replacing while completing the valve cover gasket replacement to prevent leaks and ensure your M57 continues running smoothly.

However, they often fail, and when they do, your car will be marking it's territory with little oil drops wherever you park. Apart from making a mess, it can also cause oil to come in contact with the pulley surfaces. Replace yours and keep your oil in your engine. The perfect time to replace this seal is when you are doing a timing replacement. You already have everything apart, so you might as well add this piece even if it hasn't failed yet as a bit of preventative maintenance.
