If you already have the ECS open cone filter for you N54 car then this is the perfect add-on upgrade for your system to really clean up the engine bay and keep your cone filters much cleaner. When you upgrade to the enlcosed filter kit your filters will be surrounded more more consistent cold air and by protecting the filter from engine bay dirt you are reducing the risk of air flow problems from build up.
The ECS Kohlefaser Luft-Technik (Carbon Fiber Air Technology) intake for the 135/335/535 is a beautifully crafted dual-cone intake with a glossy carbon fiber enclosure. Developed in-house using ECS's chassis dyno and state of the art laser scanning and 3D CAD technology, the N54 carbon airbox is a direct replacement for the stock system. Laser scanning allows ECS to produce a finished product that is a perfect fit to the engine bay. All tubing is also made from carbon fiber with each piece designed for optimal flow. Introducing the do88 Intake System for BMW 320i and 330i G20 – Engineered for Maximum Performance!
At do88, we understand that filtration, airflow, and heat management are crucial when designing an intake system for turbocharged engines.
Our intake system is designed to provide the turbo with excellent filtration, an optimized airflow path, and consistently low inlet temperatures. One of the key challenges with the B48/B46 engine is the intake system’s location near the exhaust manifold, which generates intense heat and causes rapid heat soak.
High intake air temperatures (IATs) can significantly reduce engine performance, as hot, less dense air makes it harder for the turbo to build boost efficiently. To address this, our fully sealed intake system minimizes heat exposure and maintains low IATs. However, fully sealed systems can face airflow restrictions due to the factory airbox’s single air feed. We resolved this by adding a secondary air feed and incorporating a heat shield into the airbox design to block heat from the exhaust manifold. The large 7” airbox ensures ample airflow around the filter and accommodates strut braces.
We replaced the stock intake hose with a high-flow 102mm (4”) mandrel-bent aluminum pipe paired with a custom silicone hose. The system also features a custom-designed air filter with tightly woven cotton gauze for exceptional filtration. The filter is washable, reusable, and built for long-lasting performance.
Unlike the stock air filter box and intake hose, which are designed with silencers to reduce turbo and induction noise, the do88 system eliminates these elements. This allows for a more pronounced and engaging turbo spool and induction sound, giving you a truly dynamic driving experience.
