It is a good idea to note how your belt is routed before starting the installation.
2 securing bolts for crank seal guard - Torque value of 20Nm
You will find either 6 or 8 E10 bolts are holding the harmonic balancer depending on the engine.
E10 (P#11237564511)
N52: 6 bolts - Torque value of 25nm
N54: 6 bolts - Torque value of 35nm
N55: 8 bolts - Torque value of 35nm
E10 (P#11237575488)
S55: 8 Bolts - Torque value of 35nm
Knock down the roadblocks preventing you from performing regular maintenance on your BMW. On the E9x and E8x chassis you run into issues with changing the rear spark plugs and coil packs. A job that should take approximately an hour or so ends up taking significantly longer because you have to remove the cowl and all associated screws. Most of the time the screws end up missing or dropped into your engine bay which can be a headache and you have to order new hardware or deal with the cowl being incorrectly fastened.
Cowl delete filters are a great addition to your E9x or E8x chassis; these filters allow you to get rid of clutter in the engine bay which adds benefits like weight reduction, improved air flow in the engine bay, more room for working on the engine and an overall cleaner engine bay appearance. We all know it is important to keep up on engine maintenance to keep your BMW running at peak performance and prevent larger future issues. This is the sensor / sending unit that notifies the computer if your coolant level is low. When this fails, it can give a false indication of low coolant -- or worse, not inform you of a low coolant situation which could potential cause overheating. (Note: This sensor is also found in the windshield washer container, to alert the computer when you are low on washer fluid)
