Knock down the roadblocks preventing you from performing regular maintenance on your BMW. On the E9x and E8x chassis you run into issues with changing the rear spark plugs and coil packs. A job that should take approximately an hour or so ends up taking significantly longer because you have to remove the cowl and all associated screws. Most of the time the screws end up missing or dropped into your engine bay which can be a headache and you have to order new hardware or deal with the cowl being incorrectly fastened.
Cowl delete filters are a great addition to your E9x or E8x chassis; these filters allow you to get rid of clutter in the engine bay which adds benefits like weight reduction, improved air flow in the engine bay, more room for working on the engine and an overall cleaner engine bay appearance. This is an OEM INA Idler Pulley, also known as the roller pulley or deflection pulley. The idler pulley is known to be the primary sources for 'belt squealing'. The pulley is also encased in rubber which will crack over time. If left without service the rubber could fail completely, chucking the belt and leaving you stranded. Replacement is a very simple procedure and can be done anytime the fan is off the engine (belt replacement, water pump service, alternator replacement, etc).

The BMW 5W30 motor oil is the factory engine oil approved for almost all BMW engines, except for BMW Diesel and some M3/M5/M6 engines. It's the first oil approved in the US for BMW's turbo N20 N54 N55 engines, including the S55 engine in the 2015+ F80 M3/F82 M4. This oil can also be used in E39 M5 and Z8 with the S62 engine, per the label inside the engine compartment. It can also be used in most MINI engines. Replaces the previous part number of 07510017866 (07-51-0-017-866).
This oil was especially formulated for the USA market to meet compatibility requirements with the high sulfer content in our fuels. It meets BMW LL01 and API SL specs for gasoline engines from 1997 up through today as well as ACEA A3/B3 requirements. This is the current oil used in BMW dealerships.
In January 2015 BMW changed official oil suppliers from Castrol to Shell. The new oils are designed to meet requirements of both the newer engines as well as older BMWs. This oil can be used in cars with either normally aspirated and or turbocharged engines.

We recommend preventative replacement of the fuel filter at 80-100,000 mile intervals. BMW called them "lifetime" but there's no question that any filter is going to get saturated with debris and dirt and its performance will suffer. The dirty filter can cause E90/E92 running issues like stalling, poor performance, rough running, chugging. We have replaced these filters in cars with 130,000+ miles and found the original filter was long overdue for replacement. These cars had the above driveability problems but had no fault codes or DTCs (which led to other shops making poor service recommendations). So we recommend having this done at the 80-100,000 mile mark as a scheduled maintenance item. There's no harm or downside to replacing it before it's completely clogged and your engine starts to suffer.
The fuel filter is located on the driver's side and includes two new large o-rings for the lock rings. The crossover lines to the fuel pump on the passenger side are included as well. We recommend new steel lock rings for the filter and the pump, especially on cars located in the Rust Belt or in salty climates. On really high mileage cars it would be a good idea to also replace the fuel pump as preventative maintenance since the job is essentially the same. The E9X fuel filter replacement is not complex but access can be difficult and you're dealing with potentially fragile plastic so amateurs may want to leave this to a professional technician.
