The bearing housing is precision CNC machined from 6061-T6 anodized aluminum and features a knurled OD to ensure a perfect press fit, and utilize a sealed OEM BMW ball joint for exceptional quality and durability, making them completely at home on both the street and track with no compromise. We have done extensive street, autocross, and track testing to ensure the ball joint used in this bushing design excels in each setting. A BMWs sub-frame is the heart of the suspension - as the subframe twists and shifts under load all of the suspension mounting points also move. The rear suspension feels loose and lacks precision. As rubber or hydroelastic bushings wear the bushing deflection gets worse. If you have a highly tuned 335i/xi you're putting even more strain on weak bushings. The solution is a stiffer and more durable material. Even BMW has moved to solid mounts on the F10 M5 and F8X M3/M4. These fully solid E82/E90/E92 aluminum mounts have zero deflection - the subframe does not move at all. The rest of the suspension can work as designed and maintain the proper alignment and motion ratios. The driver will notice the difference as the car is more stable and the handling is more precise.
Although we designed these for use in our racecars, they can work on the street so long as the driver can tolerate some additional noise, vibration, and harshness. These mounts are CNC machined in the USA and made with high-grade aluminum. The set is for all four subframe mounts.

Rubber mounts in any position of a vehicle are usually designed with comfort and longevity in mind leaving performance as a sacrifice. This kind of sacrifice here at Turner just won't do, so we did what we do best and designed a solid monoball mount.
Our engineering team first wanted to tackle the issue with wear found on rubber mounts. Due to their combination of steel, rubber, and low mounting location, these mounts are a direct target for deterioration and failure. As they are positioned out in the open and exposed to the elements, bonded steel and rubber components inevitably hold moisture, separating as the steel bearing begins to rust. Our solution was to offer a rebuildable mount with a Teflon lined bearing for increased durability, combined with a blue anodized body and melonite coated bushing sleeves for corrosion resistance.
The performance side of these mounts is primarily found in the articulation allowed by the bearing. Rubber mounts do not allow for proper free damper movement, hindering shock performance. By eliminating the deflection found in factory rubber mounts and allowing full shock articulation, this solid monoball design eliminates slop and maximizes shock efficiency and performance, allowing for more predictable handling on the street or the track - with almost zero added noise, vibration, and harshness.

Due to their soft rubber construction, OE strut mounts are known to wear at an accelerated rate. Many high-mileage vehicles fall victim to strut mount failure, which is commonly associated with annoying clunks, groans, or rattles from the front suspension.

Replacing your struts and shocks? Don't forget the bushings! The rubber mounts for the shocks will go bad over time, especially if you drive hard or the roads are particularly rough. The shock mounts locate the front struts and rear shocks to the car - providing a quiet and vibration-free buffer between the road and the cabin. Shock mounts and bushings can wear out just like any other rubber part on the car. This leads to more noise and harshness reaching the chassis and may complicate your new suspension install. When installing new shocks, that is the perfect time to also replace the mounts. There is no additional time to install them, no special tools required, and doesn't take any extra time! If you re-use the original mounts you have the risk of them failing before your next shock replacement, doubling your labor costs.

If you're installing racing rear shocks with a spherical bearing end you will need this adapter mount for the top of the rear shock. Spherical or rod-end bearings are common on race shocks but they are somewhat universal and mounts are not usually included. We designed and engineered these mounts for our E9X M3 and E90 328i IMSA/CTSCC racecars. Our cacing upper shock mount is machined out of aircraft grade aluminum with a tough anodize finish and high grade hardware. Due to the wide variety of spherical bearings and rod-ends found on race shocks, the bushing kit is sold seperately (see chart for bushing sizes).
