The factory ceramic cat is the biggest restriction so any exhaust work to gain more power is going to have to involve replacing it with something freer-flowing. These straight pipes connect to the turbo downpipes and eliminate the factory front resonators. This allows more volume from the exhaust and more V8 "soundtrack". With the M5/M6's twin-turbo V8 so quiet (even when piped through the speakers) every lit bit of volume is an improvement. This section will open up the exhaust a bit more - like turning the volume knob up - and remove some restriction in the exhaust flow. Must be installed with corresponding Supersprint center pipes.
