The DCT transmission in your BMW is nothing short of incredible and exhilarating, but also astronomically expensive to replace. BMW has been labeling fluids as "lifetime" for quite some time now, and as enthusiasts and owners have learned over the years, there simply is no fluid that last a lifetime.

This DCT service kit that takes the guesswork out of a fluid change . No need to track down the correct fluid and plugs, simply open the box, and get the job done the correct way. By servicing your DCT transmission, you will be assured that old, broken down fluid won't cause a several thousand dollar nightmare. We recommend this service every 40,000 miles to keep your transmission going strong for years to come.

Kit includes:

5 quarts of Pentosin DCTF-1 fluid
DCT transmission cartridge and suction filters
Drain and fill plugs

Please note: We include 5 quarts of DCT fluid because without a GT1 diagnostic tool and much more involved labor, you will not be able to replace over 5 quarts of fluid. Many elect to do this service and simply flush the fluid 5,000 miles later to ensure all fluid has been flushed, but this is not mandatory.

Both the cartridge and suction filters have their own challenges in replacing. For best results, replace both.

Over the life of a vehicle, the transmission can often be overlooked when performing routine maintenance. If left unserviced, the automatic transmission fluid will break down, causing the valve body and filter to become contaminated with deposits and sludge. This will lead to poor shifting, slipping, and ultimately, transmission failure. For your 8-speed transmission, BMW recommends replacing your entire transmission pan and filter as the stock pan is constructed of plastic. This plastic pan will experience numerous drastic heat cycles over its lifetime, causing it to become weak and brittle, leading to potential catastrophic failure. Not only is this dangerous, but this is also very expensive when factoring in regular services. Upgrade your BMW's ZF transmission pan to PPE's Heavy-Duty Aluminum Transmission Pan and be done with pan replacements! PPE's one-of-a-kind transmission oil pan is cast from high-strength aluminum, allowing this pan to be used for the life of your transmission while also providing multiple benefits over your stock pan. Thanks to the thicker aluminum construction, internal heat fins, and integrated external cool fins, this pan helps promote reduced transmission fluid temperatures. PPE's trans pan has also been designed to allow for an additional quart of transmission fluid. The combined benefits of both cooler trans fluid and greater fluid capacity results in better lubrication, increased service life, and longer track sessions!

Automatic transmissions are reliable, shift smoothly, and can last without issue so long as they are properly maintained. Over time, the transmission fluid becomes thick and the filter becomes contaminated with small metal particles. This can cause excess wear, high transmission operating temperatures, and eventual failure. To prevent this we recommend changing your filter, fluid, and seals to ensure your transmission continues to operate flawlessly. We recommend filter and fluid changes every 50,000 miles.

Kit Includes:

Automatic transmission filter with associated hardware
Oil pan gasket
Drain plug with sealing washer
Fill plug with sealing washer
7 quarts automatic transmission fluid

Fits the following BMW chassis with 8 speed transmissions:
E70, E71, F01, F02, F06, F07, F10, F12, F13, F13, F15, F16, F22, F23, F25, F26, F30, F31, F32, F33, F34, F36, G11

Like the DCT oil pan, the plastic OEM hydraulics cover is prone to fatiguing from heat cycling; not ideal considering the important parts that reside behind it. And also like it's oil pan sibling, the Fall-Line hydraulics cover uses a bespoke Viton O-Ring that resides within a clever internal channel. Viton O-Rings, due to their exceptional resistance to temperature extremes (-20°F to 400°F operating temp) and low gas permeability, have incredible aging characteristics and therefore eliminate the need for regular replacement.
