If you are servicing your DCT transmission and need to remove the pan, it is always a good idea to replace the gasket at this time. Reusing gaskets can often result in leaks as gaskets tend to compress over time, leading to a sub-par seal after the pan is reinstalled. Like the DCT oil pan, the plastic OEM hydraulics cover is prone to fatiguing from heat cycling; not ideal considering the important parts that reside behind it. And also like it's oil pan sibling, the Fall-Line hydraulics cover uses a bespoke Viton O-Ring that resides within a clever internal channel. Viton O-Rings, due to their exceptional resistance to temperature extremes (-20°F to 400°F operating temp) and low gas permeability, have incredible aging characteristics and therefore eliminate the need for regular replacement.
