The Burger Motorsports billet aluminum B58 oil filter cover directly replaces your weak OE plastic cap for greater protection, ease of removal/install, and great looks under the hood. You can use a 3/8" inch drive ratchet or torque wrench to install and remove. The built-in 32mm hex head does not require a special removal/install tool like the factory cap. Uses the OE oil filter, filter housing o-ring, and filter insert. Anodized for protection. This quality part is a must for any serious BMW owner. Install: After removing the OEM oil filter cap, remove the filter and be sure to remove the plastic oil filter bypass valve and transfer it to the new BMS billet oil filter cap. Be sure to replace the exterior o-ring gasket also when installing. Features and Benefits Solid aluminum design is much stronger than brittle plastic Integrated heat sinks for better oil cooling Special tools are not required for removal/install like the factory cap Strong design won't fail under pressure Reuses OE filter insert and o-ring Anodized for protection Looks great under the hood Available in black, red, silver, and blue Made in the USA

BMW's B58 engine has been very successful and has proved to be a reliable powerplant that is highly capable of producing some crazy power figures. Unfortunately, in true BMW fashion, the B58 engine does have a few problems that can become serious issues if not addressed quickly. One of these issues is the oil filter housing cracking and leaking engine oil and/or coolant. BMW chose to construct the oil filter housing out of plastic and the housing tends to split if the cap is tightened too tight or even just over time as the plastic becomes brittle from numerous heat cycles. Another common failure point is the multiple gaskets that seal the housing to the engine block and between the housing and the engine oil cooler. when these seals fail, you will notice coolant and/or oil loss, or even the mixing of engine oil with coolant. There is also the possibility of your oil filter collapsing inside of the filter housing and preventing proper oil filtration and flow, sometimes clogging the small oil channels in your filter housing as the oil filter begins to fall apart. Though this is more common with vehicles that see extended oil change intervals, such as 12K+ mile oil changes, we have seen some failures as soon as 5,000 miles after an oil change! Whatever the cause may be, the solution is almost always the same, replacement of the whole oil filter housing. We have put together a kit including the basic components needed to replace your oil filter housing and get your BMW back on the road! Included: Bremmen Engine Oil Filter Housing - Includes a new cap, seals, oil cooler, and oil filter Genuine BMW Oil Cooler Mounting Hardware Genuine BMW Oil Drain Plug Gasket Elring Intake Manifold Gaskets Elring Throttle Body Gasket Bav Auto Transmission Fill Plug (For Automatic models) Genuine BMW Installation Hardware Not included in this kit are the fluids that will need to be replaced or topped off after the installation of your new oil filter housing, including engine oil, G48 or HT-12 coolant (depending on what your BMW came with from the factory), and automatic transmission fluid for models with the ZF 8HP transmission.

One unfortunate problem BMW failed to address with the B58 engines is leaking oil filter housing gaskets. If your oil filter housing gaskets are leaking, you will notice a slow oil loss, pooling oil under your vehicle, and oil running down the left rear side of your engine block and on the side of your oil pan. This kit includes all-new gaskets to re-seal your filter housing plus Liqui-Moly oil and a new Hengst filter to get your car back up and running and leak-free!

Oil pans sit low and can take some abuse, especially on lowered cars, making them among the most commonly damaged components beneath your BMW. A cracked or bent pan isn’t something to gamble with when engine lubrication is at stake. This pan is built to OEM specifications for proper fit, sealing, and long-term durability. It’s a direct replacement designed to bolt in just like the factory unit, making it an ideal solution when road debris or speed bumps strike first.
