Control arm bushings play a key role in connecting the wheels to the chassis of the vehicle. Tasked with keeping suspension geometry in check while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber bushings were engineered to provide a balance of comfort and control. As a factory bushing ages, it becomes brittle and begins to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play in the suspension joint. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk forward after the car comes to a stop and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushing with a full polyurethane unit or using a bushing insert, this play is eliminated since the suspension joint is being supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver.

Powerflex street bushings are ideal for street driven vehicles and those that see occasional autocross or track time. Need bushings for a dedicated track car? Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Expect improved steering feel, turn in, more responsive handling and overall improved chassis composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings.

If the control arm bushings on your vehicle are beginning to fail, it will become quickly apparent. Suspension noise will be drastically increased, there will be steering wheel shake when hitting road hazards, and the entire car will have an all around loose feel. This can also lead to premature tire failure as alignment is negatively affected. Replace your control arm bushings to give your entire suspension a tighter feel. Rattling over bumps, a loose feeling when driving, and play in the front wheels is the main indicator that your bushings may be failing. The stock rubber tends to get dry rotted, wear out, and cause play in the attachment point for the control arm. Replace yours when they wear out, or when replacing a control arm that didn't include these pieces. Replace your inner control arm bushings with performance Powerflex bushings to tighten up your control and improve stability.

Differential bushings are responsible for keeping the differential in solid alignment while dampening drivetrain vibration. While OE rubber bushings are fine when they are new from the factory, aged and worn out rubber bushings create a multitude of issues that can range from annoying to dangerous. As a factory bushing ages, it begins to harden and become brittle. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow for movement at the differential mounting point. At this point, the differential is free to shift under load causing a noticeable clunking noise under acceleration and deceleration and massively increasing the stress on the driveshaft and axles. Manual transmissions suffer the worst from this as it can make shifting difficult since the differential will shift when the clutch is engaged and disengaged.

By replacing these bushings with full polyurethane, the movement is eliminated since the mounting point is supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. This means less stress on the driveshaft and axles and greater longevity of supporting components.

Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane differential bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Expect improved acceleration response, more direct shifting feel and overall improved drivetrain composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane bushings.

Sway bars transmit cornering forces from the outside wheels to the inside wheels, helping to keep the vehicle flat during cornering. This in turn reduces body roll and improves the driver's cornering confidence. OEM rubber sway bar bushings are designed with comfort in mind, allowing the sway bar to articulate while permitting additional movement, leading to less-than-ideal bar retention and causes unnecessary body roll.

Powerflex polyurethane sway bar bushings are firmer than factory rubber bushings, reducing body roll and keeping sway bars in check. Polyurethane bushings won't slop around like OEM bushings, allowing sway bars to function at their fullest potential.

The Powerflex BMW E30 / E36 / E46 / Z3 / Z4 Rear Shock Mount – 10 mm is an advanced suspension upgrade designed to improve the rear shock performance in a wide range of BMW models. By replacing the factory rubber mounts with polyurethane, this mount ensures a more durable and performance-oriented suspension setup.

Key Features:

  • Multi-Model Compatibility: Specifically designed for BMW E30, E36, E46, Z3, and Z4 models, this 10 mm rear shock mount is a perfect fit for vehicles with rear shocks that feature a 10 mm rod diameter. It offers seamless integration and performance enhancement across these BMW platforms.
  • Polyurethane Construction for Enhanced Durability: Unlike OEM rubber mounts, which are prone to wear and degradation over time, these mounts are crafted from tough polyurethane. This material provides greater resistance to wear, oil, road contaminants, and high temperatures, ensuring a longer-lasting component that maintains its structural integrity.
  • Superior Handling and Control: The stiffer polyurethane reduces the flex and movement that can occur with rubber mounts, providing more direct shock performance. This results in better handling, improved suspension response, and increased stability, particularly during aggressive driving or when cornering.
  • Comfortable Ride Quality: Despite its firmer characteristics, the polyurethane shock mount is designed to absorb road vibrations and noise, ensuring that while your handling improves, you don’t sacrifice the comfort BMWs are known for. It balances performance and comfort, making it suitable for both daily driving and spirited driving.
  • Quick and Easy Installation: Designed as a direct replacement for the stock rear shock mounts, this bushing allows for a straightforward installation process. No additional modifications are required, making it a simple yet effective upgrade for your BMW’s suspension.

This Rear Shock Mount – 10 mm is an ideal upgrade for BMW E30, E36, E46, Z3, and Z4 owners who want to improve their vehicle’s handling performance and suspension durability. The BMW E39 540, M5 (1996 - 2004) Front Inner Track Control Arm Bushing is a vital component in the suspension system, providing stability and precision to the front control arms. Designed to withstand the rigors of daily driving and performance demands, this bushing helps maintain optimal alignment, handling, and overall ride quality in the high-performance E39 540i and M5 models.

Key Features:

  1. High-Quality Material:

    • Constructed from durable rubber or polyurethane, these bushings are designed to endure constant stress, ensuring long-lasting performance under both normal and aggressive driving conditions.
  2. Enhanced Suspension Performance:

    • The bushing reduces excessive movement in the control arm, ensuring improved suspension alignment and handling characteristics. This is especially important in performance models like the BMW 540i and M5, where precision handling is critical.
  3. Minimized Vibration and Noise:

    • Worn or degraded bushings can allow vibrations to travel through the suspension system into the cabin. New bushings help dampen these vibrations, resulting in a smoother, quieter, and more comfortable driving experience.
  4. Improved Steering Response:

    • By reducing flex and movement in the control arm connection, these bushings provide a more direct and responsive steering feel. This is particularly noticeable in cornering and high-speed driving, where handling precision is essential.
  5. Direct Fit for Easy Installation:

    • These bushings are designed as direct-fit replacements for the original parts, ensuring easy installation for BMW E39 540i and M5 models. They restore the vehicle to factory performance or better, depending on material choice (rubber vs. polyurethane).
  6. Polyurethane Upgrade for Performance Enthusiasts:

    • For those seeking even greater performance, polyurethane bushings offer increased rigidity and longevity over traditional rubber. This upgrade provides sharper handling and reduces bushing flex, making it ideal for track or spirited driving.

Benefits of Upgrading or Replacing:

  • Restore Suspension Integrity: Worn-out bushings can cause poor suspension geometry, leading to uneven tire wear and compromised handling. Replacing the bushings restores proper alignment and control.
  • Better Ride Quality: Fresh bushings absorb impacts and vibrations more effectively, improving the overall ride comfort, especially in high-mileage vehicles.
  • Sharper Handling and Steering: New bushings ensure more precise control arm movement, translating into better steering feedback and cornering performance.

In conclusion, the BMW E39 540, M5 Front Inner Track Control Arm Bushing is a crucial part of the suspension system, responsible for maintaining alignment and handling dynamics. Whether you’re replacing worn bushings or upgrading to polyurethane for enhanced performance, this component ensures that your BMW E39 540i or M5 delivers the precision and comfort it was designed for.

Tasked with keeping the vehicles rear end firmly mounted while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber subframe bushings were engineered to provide a balance of control while keeping the ride quality soft and supple. As a factory bushings age, they become brittle and begin to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play, or movement in the subframe. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk or "thunking" noise under acceleration and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushings with full polyurethane this play is eliminated since the subframe is being held in place by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering and acceleration inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver.

Powerflex street bushings are ideal for street driven vehicles and those that see occasional autocross or track time. Need bushings for a dedicated track car?

Upgrade Your Ride with Powerflex Subframe Bushings Subframe bushings are the unsung heroes that keep your subframe snugly attached to the chassis of your ride. The stock rubber bushings that come with your car are a bit of a compromise. They aim to give you a smooth, comfy ride while still providing some decent handling. But here's where Powerflex steps in with their polyurethane subframe bushings. These babies are a bit firmer than your run-of-the-mill OEM bushings. What does that mean for you? Well, it translates to better handling, a more solid rear end (not what you're thinking), and a suspension that can flex its muscles without ruining your smooth ride. Powerflex is the go-to suspension bushing champ over in Europe. They know their stuff when it comes to polyurethane, and their high-tech manufacturing game is on point. They're all about making performance bushings that fit your ride like a glove. Plus, these are built to last longer than your typical rubber bushings while giving your BMW E9X 3 Series performance a kick in the rear (in a good way). Now, here's a pro tip for you: when you're installing these bad boys, it's a good idea to have some Powerflex Copper Grease PCG1 on hand. It'll make your life easier during the installation process. A bit of reapplication of that grease can keep those squeaks at bay and make your bushings last longer. So, what's the deal with different flavors of bushings, you ask? Well, if your ride is mainly hitting the streets with the occasional autocross or track day thrown in for fun, the Powerflex street bushings are your jam. But if you're building a track monster, then feast your eyes on the Powerflex Black Series. These beasts are 25% stiffer than the street version, ready to handle the extremes of track and race conditions. And here's the cherry on top: Powerflex stands by its products. They're so confident that they offer a lifetime warranty to the original buyer on all their gear. That's some serious peace of mind right there. So, whether you're looking to improve your ride's handling, reduce those squeaks, or amp up your track beast, Powerflex subframe bushings are the way to go. Your ride will thank you for it, and you'll be grinning behind the wheel. OE / OEM Cross Reference Numbers: 33316768645
