Your BMW's drive belts are wear items, and will degrade and crack over time. Don't wait until you have a belt failure... don't get stranded! Replacing your BMW's belts, such as the alternator belt, power steering belt, air conditioning AC belt, or serpentine belt is a low cost insurance policy to preventing a break down -- or worse, engine damage. We recommend checking your belts every 10,000 miles. If your belts have excessive cracks, dry rot, missing teeth and/or grooves, are cause noise, it's time for new ones.
While also inspecting your serpentine belts, also check for wear or resistance in the pulleys. The tensioner pulley and deflection pulley are the primary sources for belt squealing. The rubber-isolated pulleys can also break apart, leading to total belt failure. We sell the tensioner and deflection pulleys for the M50 engine family used in the E34, E36, E39, E46, X5, Z3, and Z4.
Introducing our Turner Motorsport Crank Seal Guard – the essential shield for your BMW's engine integrity. Safeguarding the heart of your vehicle, this meticulously designed guard offers robust protection for the crank seal concealed behind the harmonic balancer.
Considered an indispensable maintenance component for your BMW, the Crank Seal Guard acts as a crucial defense against a potential and preventable catastrophe involving your accessory belt. Facing the reality of potential oil or coolant leaks in your engine, this guard becomes a reliable barrier, preventing these fluids from reaching the accessory belt. The consequence of a compromised belt includes walking, slipping, fraying, and rubber particles finding their way behind the harmonic balancer and into the crank seal – a scenario that can lead to severe engine failure.
Let's be honest, engine leaks are a common occurrence, and whether your engine is currently leaking or not, the Crank Seal Guard is a proactive measure against future threats. The wear and tear on the accessory belt due to oil and coolant exposure can result in slipping, tearing, or, worst-case scenario, belt snapping – posing a significant risk to your engine's well-being.
Prepare your car for the long haul and protect the vital components, It's not a matter of "if" but "when" your belt will become a problem, and our Crank Seal Guard is your proactive solution. Rigorously tested on N52/N54/N55 and S55 for 100% confirmed fitment, it stands as a reliable guardian for your engine's health. Invest in the protection your BMW deserves with the Turner Motorsport Crank Seal Guard.

Underdrive Power Pulleys work to 'free up' horsepower. Any accessory that spins from the main drive belt is using up power. That's power that could otherwise be used to move the car. By giving some of that power back to the engine, you can make the car faster! It's like FREE HORSEPOWER !
Underdrive pulleys for your BMW will slow down engine-mounted accessories - the water pump, power steering pump, and alternator*. These systems contribute to 'parasitic losses' - power lost from what the engine could produce if it did not have these systems. Since less energy is used to move them, that power is transferred back to the engine and used to propel the car. Our pulleys give a 5-10% reduction in rotation, releasing up to 11hp on most BMW six-cylinder engines. There's also a small but noticeable improvement in throttle response too! We have done extensive testing and development work, both on and off the track, to ensure that the accessory systems function as they should. On our Racing pulley kits we actually underdrive certain components more so we feel our Street pulleys are an ideal compromise between power/torque gains, reliability, and system performance. Our pulley kits have been on the market for over ten years, and used in all of our own cars, with zero component failures related to their use.
Our pulleys are made from T-6061 aluminum and finished in a durable black hard anodize that is very resistant to wear, chemical exposure, and heat. We designed our pulleys to look similar to the factory parts but also to be stronger and, in most cases, slightly lighter too. For example, a Turner alternator pulley is less than half the weight of the stock steel pulley! With our hardcoat aluminum you will never have to worry about a serious failure of a stock plastic pulley. A 'stealth' approach to aesthetics was our goal and we let the results speak for the pulley design. Installation is straight forward and easy with simple hand tools. Removal of the fan is required for access to the front of the engine. Total install time for a 3-piece pulley set should be around 1.5 hours. A new longer belt is included and we also recommend replacing the separate A/C belt, belt tensioners, and the guide and deflection pulleys at the same time.

We offer our kits in two different ways: the full Power Pulley Kit with all 3 pulleys or a 2 pulley kit if you do not wish to underdrive your alternator (for large stereo systems or other battery-draining modifications). CNC machined using aircraft grade 6061 aluminum billet, and anodized with a stealthy black coating. Others may advertise "their" crank pulley boasting higher numbers (using a smaller pulley profile), but we have concluded that for street and track driven M5 and M6, this is the best size and design to ensure proper engine temp and auxiliary functionality. As the S85 V10 engine doesn't use a traditional harmonic balancer, all factory harmonics and dampening are fully and properly retained. We've found this pulley alone adds 18 to 22 HP and 17 to 21 Ft/lbs Torque on a stock M5 or M6 with no other mods(!!).
The E60 M5 / E63 M6 Power Pulley Kit includes: (1) Underdrive Crank Pulley (1) Correctly Sized Drive Belt (6) Allen Head Bolts (1) Installation instructions

If you know which brand you have, select your option below and we'll send you the correct alternator pulley for your BMW. Don't know which you have? NO PROBLEM! We can send you both. The 2nd pulley costs $40 but you will receive a refund once we get the un-used pulley back (return shipping not included).
Stereo Systems. We offer our kits in two different ways: the full Power Pulley Kit with all 3 pulleys or a 2 pulley kit if you do not wish to underdrive your alternator (for large stereo systems or other battery-draining modifications). Our kits have been tested for compatability with the factory premium stereo systems (Harmon Kardon, etc). But any major alterations or upgrades from the factory system will work best with our 2 pulley kit and no underdriving of the alternator. For all stock stereo systems the 3 pulley set is recommended because the Turner alternator pulley will help make more power and is also much lighter than the stock pulley.
For use with the stock VALEO M3 alternator only Part of the process of building a proper race car is to delete and simplify portions of the wiring harness. This not only saves weight and reduces complexity, but it also allows you to run a smaller, lighter racing battery. So why is your alternator still charging at the original rate?!? This S54 racing alternator pulley underdrives the alternator more than our standard Power Pulley, freeing up horsepower and reducing alternator wear. This pulley is over 70% larger than the original stock pulley. With less electrical load, you don't need the original alternator output anymore. You can drive the alternator less and return that "lost" horsepower back to the engine. This part was developed and race-proven on our E46 Touring Cars. Because this pulley is so much larger than the original (70%), special care will need to be taken so that it does not interfere wtih other components on the engine - power steering lines, oil cooler lines, coolant hoses, etc. This pulley is strictly for race/track cars only, due to the size of the alternator pulley the proper voltage cannot be maintained at low RPM. This pulley must be used with our Turner Power Pulley or Turner Racing Pulley kits.

Underdrive Power Pulleys work to 'free up' horsepower. Any accessory that spins from the main drive belt is using up power. That's power that could otherwise be used to move the car. By giving some of that power back to the engine, you can make the car faster! It's like FREE HORSEPOWER!
Our pulleys give a 10-20% reduction in rotation, releasing up to 11hp on most BMW six-cylinder engines.

The idea of power pulleys is simple. The less effort the engine puts into running accessories such as the water pump, power steering, pump alternator etc., the more of that power can be used elsewhere - your wheels! The way this is done by reducing the rotation of the pulleys by as much as 10-20%! The end result is more horsepower at your disposal. Turner has done extensive testing (on and off the track), to ensure that the accessory systems still function as intended and without failure. These pulleys offer an excellent compromise of power gains, reliability, and performance.

If you own an M57-equipped BMW, you already know this twin-turbo diesel powerplant is an absolute torque monster. What you might also know is that all that low-end grunt and high-compression diesel vibration wreaks absolute havoc on your accessory drive system.
From the factory, both the E90 335d and E70 X5 35d utilize a rigid alternator pulley. With each cylinder's fire, the crankshaft experiences a violent micro-acceleration. Because the alternator has a heavy internal rotor spinning at high speeds, it wants to keep spinning at a constant rate. When the engine suddenly slows down (even minutely between firing cycles), the alternator fights the belt. This constant tug-of-war results in extreme stress on your engine's belt-driven components. At best, it’s an annoying, unrefined chirp at idle; at worst, it’s a ticking time bomb for your expensive harmonic balancer.
To solve this issue, many enthusiasts choose to run a clutched alternator pulley (also called an overrunning alternator pulley). A clutched pulley allows the alternator to "freewheel" or coast when the engine slows down, completely isolating its rotational inertia from the belt drive to prevent component wear. While the N52's clutched pulley (12317560483) is a straight bolt-on, the offset is incorrect for the E90 335d's accessory drive. Thankfully, our engineers designed this zinc-coated spacer to provide the precise amount of spacing needed to perfectly align the new pulley with existing belt drive components.

Under certain conditions, the N55 crank hub likes to spin, without warning and even when the engine is in perfect health. The engineers at Vargas saw and dealt with this problem time and again, and they saw fit to do something about it. This hub uses a proprietary "Spline Lock" technology that uses high tolerance machined splines which press into the crank, and positively lock the hub to the crank. The splines are machined in such a way that rotational forces drive the hub, and splines deeper into the crank meaning when the hub encounters a situation that would normally slip a stock hub the splined hub is driven into the crank to keep it in place (much like a splined extractor). Features: Installs the same as a stock hub Does NOT require the crank to be drilled for pins Manufactured from Harndered 17-4SS We suggest the Crank Hub System ONLY be installed by a qualified shop or technician. Timing tools are 100% REQUIRED if installed improperly engine damage may occur. DISCLAIMER: VTT and ECS are not responsible for any engine damage caused by improper installation, or misuse of the crank hub solution.

It is a well-known issue on the BMW N54/55 platforms that your serpentine belt can fail for various reasons. When this happens, there is a high chance of the belt getting sucked behind the front damper pulley and then being pushed past the crank seal into your oil pan. From there it can get sucked into the oil pick up causing total engine failure. Even if you do not lose the engine, it is a COSTLY repair to remove the sub-frame and drop the oil pan to remove the belt. The best way to combat this is to watch for oil leaks and keep up on your maintenance. BUT, even with those preventative measures, pre-mature belt failure can occur. This crank seal guard installs over your front crank seal and will keep the belt from being sucked in if a belt failure does occur. This is a cheap way to ensure you do not end up having to replace your motor from oil starvation due to an ingested belt. Vargas' seal is different from those already on market in two major ways. Firstly, it is not offensively priced. Secondly, it is 100% billet with no welds on the tabs to break, no cheap bent thin steel pieces. 100% Billet 6061-T6 aluminum, anodized black for long-term corrosion resistance. Crank Seal Guard includes: One VTT Billet N54/55 Crank Seal Guard Two extended 12.9 Grade bolts, and two stainless washers We highly recommend you install WITH a crank bolt capture at the same time, as you have to remove the damper anyway. Then you will get the benefit of helping eliminate the dreaded spun crank hub and the crank seal issue

Vargas has introduced their new Billet Power Steering pulleys for the N54 engine! A well-known issue with the N54 with Hydraulic power steering is the plastic pulley either hitting the subframe, or breaking on its own. This can result in the belt to be ejected from the pulley, and leave you stranded with no serpentine belt. This also increases the chance of sucking the belt into the engine through the front seal. Put an end to the dreaded plastic PS pulley issues with the VTT 100% Billet Aluminum PS pulley. These are constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum and anodize in one of 4 colors (Black, Red, Blue, and Clear) for a great look, and long-lasting finish. These weigh 11oz, very close to the weight of a stock pulley, and are lighter than the cast aluminum versions on the market.

This kit covers many of the common wear items that should be changed any time the serpentine belt is being replaced. As these cars gain years and mileage the belt tensioners will also need to be replaced along with the actual belts. It won't do any good to replace the belt if the tensioners are worn. This kit will save you time and money over buying these pieces individually. This kit includes an updated hydraulic alternator tensioner for added reliability and longevity.
