The Turner Motorsport Clutched Alternator Pulley Conversion Kit converts the rigid factory alternator pulley on BMW E70 X5 35d M57 engines to an overrunning clutched setup.

If you own an M57-equipped BMW, you know this twin-turbo diesel is an absolute torque monster. Factory M57 engines utilize a rigid pulley that transmits crankshaft micro-accelerations to the belt drive, causing idle chirp and premature harmonic balancer failure. To compensate, Many enthusiasts choose to run a clutched alternator pulley (also called an overrunning alternator pulley) to let the alternator coast when the engine slows down.

This complete conversion kit combines an OE N52 clutched alternator pulley with a custom zinc-coated spacer to correct belt offset, allowing the alternator rotor to freewheel during engine deceleration and isolating rotational inertia from accessory drive components. ​Order the Turner Motorsport conversion spacer to protect your M57 accessory drive components.
