This center x-pipe fits between the Supersprint section 1 and section 2 pieces. Having an x-pipe equalizes and balances the exhaust gases coming from both banks of cylinders. It helps make the exhaust flow more efficient. The stock exhaust doesn't have this which makes this piece a nice added feature to your Supersprint system. Requries adapter sleeve listed below.

The Akrapovic Evolution exhaust systems for the BMW F22/23 M240i are the result of the perfect integration of expertise, the best technology, and the use of the finest materials. Made of austenitic stainless steel, these systems feature a newly developed layout with two central link pipes replacing the single stock pipe, a new muffler design, and carbon fiber tailpipes.
This Akrapovic Evolution exhaust improves upon the stock exhaust system of the BMW M240i in numerous areas. The first visible improvement is the additional power of 6.5 HP (at 5500 rpm) and 12.6 Nm (at 3000 rpm). The range between 2.000 rpm and 3.500 rpm was particularly improved. A noticeable improvement can also be observed at high RPM where the Evolution gives more power. This sporty elegance makes this Bavarian machine stand out from the rest and offers the taste of a more powerful version, accentuated with the additional power gains and weight losses of the Evolution system. The dual-mode ECU-controlled valve exhaust from Akrapovic offers stock-level sound at normal cruising, and a joyful deep sporty note when driving the M240i more dynamically. The Evolution systems replace the stock exhaust from the catalytic converters back.

The system uses a high flow transverse muffler with 3" diameter tubing which improves performance across the power band while maintaining a great tone. To finish off this exhaust are dual double wall resonated angle cut gloss black 304 stainless steel tips. The factory actuator drive is retained with the aFe exhaust so that a check engine light does not occur. This exhaust uses all factory hanger locations for a hassle free installation. The catalytic converter is a crucial emissions control device designed to transform exhaust gases from your BMW engine into less harmful substances. Featuring an internal honeycomb monolith, washcoat, and a catalyst made from precious metals, this component effectively reduces toxic emissions. The F10 M5 is one of the most impressive road cars ever created and the Akrapovic Evolution exhaust is the perfect enhancement. The new M TwinPower Turbo M5 has been a welcome challenge to the Akrapovi? R&D department, which is responsible for developing truly amazing exhaust system that offer more power, weighs less, and have an EC type-approval stamp at the same time.
The new Evolution exhaust system consists of newly developed dual-outlet mufflers with exhaust valves, flow-optimized pipes, and a unique cast titanium X-shaped part with resonators. The X-pipe, valves, and flange assembly are produced in our foundry. To top off this work of art, we've got polished titanium and aerospace-grade carbon fiber tail pipes to choose from.
The Evolution system lowers the back pressure and gives the M5 more power and torque through the whole range of rpms. It increases responsiveness. The Evolution system offers an even greater difference in weight, improving the power-to-weight ratio. Gains are achieved without removing the catalytic converters. While developing this system, we especially focused on sound. An M5 with the Evolution system delivers a deep, aggressive roar when driven hard, coaxing bangs out of the unique tail pipes when shifting and going off the throttle. To top it all off, the Evolution system is drone free and works well with the M5's Active Noise Cancellation system - just like the valve system, which is regulated through the M5's settings. Not for sale outside the US or Canada.
