In BMWs with the N55, the intake system is partially limited. The bottom portion is lightweight and great for feeding cold air to the intake, but the top portion is excessively restrictive. Working with some of the original equipment, this intake continues to utilize the bottom portion of OE ducting and heat shielding, but replaces the top with new high flow ducting and a performance filter. Extensive testing showed up to a 10+ HP gain to the wheels and allows for quicker turbo spool speed. Plus, this design gives you a great sound improvement, letting you hear both the intake and turbo spooling!

Installation and removal is extremely quick and easy, taking only 5 minutes in the driveway!

Features:

• Adds up to 10+ Horsepower
• Dramatic sound improvement
• Super fast install and removal
• Improves throttle response
• Retains OEM airbox base as a heat shield
• Retains OEM cold air ducting
• Looks great under the hood
• Cleanable and reusable filter
• Made in the USA

Elevate your car's performance with the ALTA Cold Air Box, precision-crafted from laser-cut aluminum sheet metal and expertly CNC bent to perfection. This airbox is not only a performance enhancer but also a protector, thanks to its durable black texture powder coating, offering long-term protection with an OEM-inspired appearance.

Key Benefits of the ALTA Cold Air Box:

• Seals to the underside of the hood, shielding the intake airstream from under-hood heat.
• Enhances your car's engine tone with a throaty, deep sound upon throttle, showcasing its modified nature.
• Allows you to hear your supercharger's whine, whether stock or aftermarket.

The high-flow foam filter included with the ALTA Cold Air Box is designed to reduce intake restriction and increase the surface area for clean air ingestion. Unlike cotton and gauze filters, foam filters offer multi-layer filtration, trapping dirt at various levels. This results in improved particulate restriction without compromising horsepower as the filter accumulates dirt.

The ALTA Cold Air Intake System for R53 6-speed manual is available in black or red texture powder coating, allowing you to customize the appearance to your preference.
