Supersprint revised their rear muffler designs to offer this 'Generation 2' version - smaller body and freer flow than the standard Supersprint muffler but quieter and more civilized than the full Lightweight Racing mufflers. It's still lighter than the stock original or standard Supersprint mufflers. The sound is a more refined version of the full racing mufflers with less drone and quieter overall but still with plenty of ripping S54 aural tone.

The Supersprint race mufflers on the E92 M3 greatly amplify the audible sensations coming from the M3 V8. The Race mufflers are a freer-flowing and more aggressive sound than the larger, standard 'street' muffler because they don't need to meet conservative European noise limits. These compact mufflers are louder but specially tuned for greater enjoyment of that V8 sound! This is the original Supersprint street rear muffler for the E46 M3. It's a direct replacement for the stock rear muffler but with less restriction and better flow. This exhaust is not overly loud (conforming to European noise restrictions) and no drone but is larger and heavier than the other Supersprint mufflers. It makes a deeper tone than with slightly more rasp than the stock system.

If stock exhaust volume does not live up to your expectations and you want a lot more turbo-6 sound to get to the cabin, this Supersprint 'Racing' muffler may just what you want. By using a smaller muffler body and more straight-through exhaust flow, more sound can be extracted from the very quiet turbocharged engine. Most of Supersprint's mufflers are designed to meet European noise levels which leaves some room to make them louder for the North American market but without being obnoxiously loud. This muffler converts the X3 to the 'dual exhaust' look with two tips on each side (bumper modification required). This gives a more muscular appearance and makes the X3 more like its bigger X5/X6 siblings. Note: tips are sold separately, choose from 80mm or 90mm tip styles below.
