The oxygen sensor is vital to the performance and drivability of your car. The engine computer relies on data from the sensor to make adjustments in engine efficiency and performance. Because the 2007 & up MINI is direct injection the intake valves do not benefit from the cleaning action provided by the gasoline as in older port injection engines.
