BMW crankshafts, pistons, and connecting rods are crucial components for ensuring optimal engine performance and longevity. Common issues such as crankshaft wear, piston damage, or connecting rod failure can lead to engine misfires, knocking, or reduced power output. These problems are often caused by high-performance demands, poor maintenance, or inadequate components. Upgrading to high-quality, precision-engineered parts like forged crankshafts, lightweight pistons, and reinforced connecting rods can resolve these issues, improving durability, reducing engine vibration, and enhancing overall horsepower, torque, and engine efficiency. By choosing the right BMW crankshafts, pistons, and connecting rods, owners can extend engine life and ensure smooth, high-performance operation.
Your BMW's drive belts are wear items, and will degrade and crack over time. Don't wait until you have a belt failure... don't get stranded! Replacing your BMW's belts, such as the alternator belt, power steering belt, air conditioning AC belt, or serpentine belt is a low cost insurance policy to preventing a break down -- or worse, engine damage. We recommend checking your belts every 10,000 miles. If your belts have excessive cracks, dry rot, missing teeth and/or grooves, are cause noise, it's time for new ones.
While also inspecting your serpentine belts, also check for wear or resistance in the pulleys. The tensioner pulley and deflection pulley are the primary sources for belt squealing. The rubber-isolated pulleys can also break apart, leading to total belt failure. We sell the tensioner and deflection pulleys for the M50 engine family used in the E34, E36, E39, E46, X5, Z3, and Z4.
Electrical gremlins can be very frustrating. Luckily your BMW's electrical system is better than most, even if it's 25 years old. Here you will find electrical relays, sensors, switches, and modules for the engine, camshaft, and crankshaft. Our parts are OEM, Genuine BMW, or approved aftermarket brands that we have an excellent track record with. There is no middle ground with electrical parts - it either works perfectly or not. And there's nothing more frustrating than a new part that fails right out of the box. So it's important to choose quality replacement parts over a cheap but faulty piece.
Is your BMW throwing emissions related codes? While we're primarily a BMW performance parts house, we understand the importance of maintaining your emissions system to pass inspection in your area and keep your check engine light off. Pick up your emissions related parts from Turner Motorsport.
The beauty cover hides unsightly wiring and plumbing and makes the engine bay look cleaner and neater to the eyes. In addition to dressing up the underhood area, they have the added benefit of keeping the area they cover clean and free of dirt and moisture.
Most engine hardware including head studs, VANOS bolts, and exhaust studs can only be used once. While most of the accessory bolts and miscellaneous hardware can be re-used it is often handy to have a spare bolt or bracket just in case one breaks. Any aluminum bolt, such as those found in the N52 engine MUST be replaced no matter the age or visual condition.
Don't start your next engine project without the proper tools. Whether you are doing an oil change or overhauling the entire engine, we have all of the tools you will need to get the job done right the first time.
Looking for a BMW fuel pump, BMW gas cap or other BMW fuel system related items? You've found the right place. Your BMW fuel delivery system is a critical system, and any failure can rended your BMW dead in the water. Whether your fuel pump has stopped pumping, a fuel injector is clogged or not spraying, or your gas cap is either lost or not properly sealing, we likely have what you are looking for. We stock thousands of BMW fuel system parts so if you don't see what you are looking for, just give us a call.
Gaskets are key to a properly running and clean engine. They obviously prevent fluid leaks but they're also critical in keeping air either in or out... Air leaks after the air flow meter, also known as vaccum leaks, can induce lean running conditions, fault codes, and poor running conditions. Other seals and gaskets are designed to keep air in. With the sensitivity of OBD systems, leaks will lead to fault codes very quickly which can be tough to diagnose and prevent you from passing state inspections.
We insist on Original BMW or OEM gaskets whenever possible.
Your BMW's ignition system is critical for smooth engine operation. This category contains parts used in the BMW ignition system, including spark plugs, ignition coils, spark plug wires and boots, ignition rotors and caps, distributors and distributor caps. On most 1991 and later model BMWs, your car has what's known as a coil-on-plug system, where each cylinder has its own ignition coil that sits directly atop the spark plug (so you won't have spark plug wires on those BMWs.) A fresh set of spark plugs is an essential part of any BMW engine tune up.
Rebuilding your engine or giving your cylinder head an overhaul? Internal engine components covers parts that are located within the engine block and cylinder head. Examples include: timing chains and tensioners, rocker arms, rod bolts and studs, head bolts, valve springs, connecting rods, and more. These are Genuine BMW engine parts, performance upgrades, or approved aftermarket brands that have a long track record of reliability and quality.
Don't neglect your motor mounts! Most stock BMW motor mounts are fluid filled and the stiffness of the mount depends on this fluid. But over time the fluid leaks out and the strength of the mount is greatly reduced. A worn motor mount allows the engine to twist and shift around. The harder you're driving the more shift will occur. As the engine is moving around it can contact other parts in the engine bay - usually cooling related. The mechanical fan can hit the radiator; the A/C compressor can hit a radiator hose, the exhaust will flex and may break. Twisting of the engine can also lead to shifting problems as the transmission twists with it. There are countless issues related to worn or compressed motor mounts so don't overlook these as a regular replacement item (every 50,000 miles).
Tasked with keeping everything properly lubricated, the oiling system is one of the most if not THE most fundamental parts of the engine. Make sure that everything is in good working order and flowing properly to ensure your engine has a long and trouble-free service life.
Since 1993 Turner Motorsport has been at the forefront of performance tuning for BMWs. We show this best in our tuned Performance Packages, developed along stages for specific BMW models. Each staged Package is tuned in-house, bringing together expertise from our street tuning division, service shop, and race team. Nearly all of our Packages feature custom-tuned performance software from the best names in the business. The software is the best feature in our kits, maximizing power gains while doing nothing to affect engine reliability or driveability. In most cases, Stages are upgradeable - you can jump from one stage to another by purchasing the new parts and revised software (contact us directly about buying parts outside of the Stage). Or jump right into a higher stage by purchasing the complete kit. We'll work with you to select the appropriate parts and a matching software tune. Nearly all of our Packages have been tested and tuned on our in-house Dynapack Chassis Dyno. Our packages are designed for US-spec models only.
Superchargers are among the most effective power adders for BMWs. We offer Active Autowerke and VF Engineering supercharger systems to complete transform the power your BMW delivers.
Timing issues can be detrimental to the longevity of your BMW. If you're getting high in mileage or suspect a timing issue, it's likely time for a timing service. We have everything you need from tensioners to guides here at Turner Motorsport.
If more boost and reliability are your goals choose from one of our BMW turbo upgrades. Our turbo upgrades range from stock turbos rebuilt with stronger internals to all-new, ground-up turbo upgrades. BMW turbos such as the N54 are capable of really impressive power numbers on stock engine internals but the factory turbos lack the precise tolerances and reliability that an upgraded unit will deliver. In other words, the stock turbos can only do so much and if big power (>400whp) is your goal a turbo upgrade must be in your plans. Our partners are leading experts in turbo technology and upgrades. Each Stage has been professionally developed and tested. Additional upgrades and tuning may be, or is, required. Contact us for more details on tuning options.
Reduce parasitic loss of power on your BMW's engine by safely under driving the belt driven auxiliary systems. Reducing this drag on your engine results in MORE HORSEPOWER AND TORQUE to the wheels of your BMW. Our BMW underdrive power pulley kits are specifically designed for each BMW application to make the best power while maintaining stock driveability and reliability, eliminating potential downsides. Others may advertise "their" pulleys boasting more power, but we concluded that for street and track driven BMWs, ours are the best size and design to ensure both your engine and it's belt-driven systems (alternator, water pump, power steering etc) are well within safe operation. We run these under drive pulleys on our own BMWs, so we would not want them any other way.
The valve cover is responsible for sealing the internal workings of the engines' top end. Most vehicles require a replacement gasket at some point or another and newer models have plastic valve covers that get brittle and crack with age.
