Bavarian Autosport served the needs of BMW and MINI enthusiasts from 1974-2019. A lot of time and resources have been put into developing and evaluating these products, as well as the companies who produce them. We stand behind every product we sell. Oil venting and circulation continues to be a problem on BMW engines and now even more so on the turbocharged N54 and N55 engines. The existing stock system does a very poor job of separating fluid and vapor and this leads to an oily film or even small pools of oil throughout the turbos and intake. We're seeing a lot more 135 and 335 cars with drivability and performance issues because oil has sneaked by the ring seals and is coating the intake piping, intercooler, intake valves, and other critical areas. The problem is worsened with higher boost levels. Oil is excellent for lubricating moving parts but terrible when it gets into the combustion chamber, effectively lowering the octane rating and reducing performance. Our own shop has gone the extra step and offers media blasting of the intake valves to strip away the oily buildup we have seen.

Our shop also strongly recommends an oil catch can be installed in the line for the crankcase vent. The oil catch can traps oil as it leaves the valve cover and holds it in a canister. This catch can is located on the cooler side of the engine where the oil will condense easier and stay in the can. Whatever minimal vapors are left over in the oil is then vented back through the canister and into the intake where it is safe to be burned up in the engine or recirculated back through the system again. This is the way the system was designed! At each oil change simply unscrew the canister and empty the trapped oil with your regular used oil. The Burger Tuning oil catch can is the best we have seen so far. Installing one of these will avoid costly repairs in the future and help maintain your boost and performance. It's one of the smartest modifications you can make because it demonstrates a well-thought out tuning strategy and care for the condition of your engine.

The BMS Oil Catch Can is made from aluminum and with a stealthy black anodized finish. It installs on the cooler side of the engine with a dedicated bracket and new oversized vent lines. The location is key as heat will evaporate the oil and send too much vapor back into the engine (where cooler air will turn it back into fluid). The BMS OCC also has a factory-like appearance. Since BMS designed their catch can from scratch they can guarantee it fits and performs correctly for the N54/N55 engine, unlike other catch cans on the market that are poorly retrofitted from other applications and under-sized for the N54 engine.

Note: Since the crankcase vent system is considered part of the overall emissions system, installing this may be a violation of local, state, and federal laws. While exemptions are made for track/race and off-road use, check with your local state inspection facility on using this in street-driven vehicles

These kits are designed to be installed inline with your stock low-pressure fuel pump (LPFP).  They provide approximately 50% more flow when combined with your stock pump.

  *Note:  Walbro does not warranty this pump for E85 use.  If your application requires an E85 certified pump you may want to consider selecting a Stage 2 fuel kit.

  ** IMPORTANT:  Do NOT attempt to run this kit inline with a Stage 2 kit.  The Stage 2 kit is a higher flowing kit and this will not only restrict the flow of the stage 2 kit, it will result in failures.

This is a complete plug and play solution to replace your stock Low-Pressure Fuel Pump (LPFP) with a new E85 certified bucketless assembly.

This solution provides up to 25% more flow than our standard Stage 2 LPFP upgrade and up to 150% more flow than the stock pump.  

This pump will support up to 550whp running 85% ethanol and 600whp running 50% ethanol. 

The Stage 2 bucketless kit includes the following:

• • A custom anodized billet fitting for the pump output and stock fuel line connection.
  • Our custom billet aluminum anodized bracket for the pump and float assembly
  • Two cotter pins to secure your float assembly
  • A new E85 compatible Walbro 450 pump

If you still need more flow, the Stage 3 upgrade is also available and can be added to your Stage 2 bucketless pump.

The Stage 3 upgrade kit includes:

• NOTE: These kits include a basic filter assembly.  When using this filter, running the vehicle under low fuel conditions can cause fuel starvation issues. If you do hard straight line accelerations when you have less than 1/8 tank of fuel, we would recommend running our standard Stage 2, 3, or Stage 4 pump.  In addition, if you intend to use this for road course applications, you may see starvation issues when running less than a half tank and doing long high G right turns.  Again for those applications we'd recommend one of our standard pump applications.

This is a complete Low-Pressure Fuel Pump (LPFP) upgrade that replaces your stock LPFP assembly with a new E85 certified one.  The new Walbro 450 pump provides approximately 100% more flow than stock and this assembly can be purchased one of three ways to meet your needs.

• Trade-in:
  • This option allows you to receive a rebuilt/upgraded stock bucket with a new Walbro 450 pump, filter, and fittings to swap out your stock LPFP assembly.  A $150 core deposit is included in the price that will be refunded when we receive your *stock bucket.
• New Build:
  • This option includes a new LPFP bucket that is upgraded with a new Walbro 450 pump, filter, and fittings.  No core deposit is required but you are eligible for a core refund of $50 should you elect to return your *stock bucket.

Both options include the following:

• A complete plug and play solution by simply replacing your stock bucket
• A new E85 compatible Walbro 450 pump
• A new Walbro filter
• A custom fitting that is tuned to optimize the venturi and pump output

 To be eligible for a core return, the bucket must be completely stock and undamaged. (Pump itself does not have to be functioning) 

+ International customers:  Due to different emissions requirements, the top portion of your fuel bucket (top hat) is different and doesn't have a large vent tube connection.  For this reason, we are no longer sending the top hat to international customers as this often causes confusion.  Those customers will simply re-use their current top hat when installing their Stage 2 pump.

- All Stage 2 assemblies are stock buckets that have been rebuilt and may show signs of being disassembled and rebuilt.  They are all flow tested and verified before being shipped.
