Supersprint's rear muffler for the 535i produces a pleasing but not intrusive exhaust sound. This muffler is considered a street upgrade system with only a modest increase in volume to give a hint of added performance without being obnoxious or annoying. This is a great muffler for altering the exhaust note without drawing attention to yourself. You can also add additional Supersprint sections to better tune the exhaust to your preferances. This muffler uses dual 80mm round tips that fills in the bumper nicely. The Supersprint Crossover Pipe will delete the rear resonator ahead of the rear mufflers. By removing the resonator, you can get more volume and growl from your exhaust as well as decrease exhaust restriction for slightly better power and torque. Deleting resonators makes a small but noticeable increase in overall volume so it's recommended that this is done after changing or removing mufflers. This x-pipe fits in section 2 of the exhaust - after the factory secondary cat section and before the rear mufflers. It's a direct install with Supersprint mufflers but any other set of mufflers may require custom professional installation to achieve a perfect fit.

Placing resonators after cat-less downpipes will help tune the sound from the S63TU engine. By removing the factory catted downpipes you're removing a large sound muffler as well and adding resonators can help tone down the open exhaust. These Supersprint resonators are for both banks of the exhaust (left and right). They are full stainless steel with a mandrel bent pipe for optimized exhaust flow. The E60 535i got a little short-changed in the exhaust and looks department. From the rear, there is no evidence of the twin-turbo power that lies beneath. The 335 had dual exhaust; the later F10 535i had dual pipes too. But the 2007-2010 E60 535i exhaust looks just like any plain Jane 525i from the rear. Supersprint has developed two solutions to E60 owners who want that muscular dual output exhaust look. This muffler has an extra Power Loop outlet running behind the stock bumper and finished off with dual 80mm round tips on both sides. There are two ways to implement the right side tips - cutting into the stock bumper or installing a full E60 M5 rear bumper. Each Supersprint exhaust is different to match the bumper you use. Once lined up it's clear where the stock bumper needs to be modified. And if done professionally can appear as though it came from the factory.

The Supersprint 'Race' rear muffler system is one step beyond the standard Sport mufflers. Don't be fooled by the name - the 'Race' mufflers are designed for street use and the name only distinguishes it from the quieter standard Sport system. With the stock system the sound is very subdued. With the 'Race' mufflers the sound is much more noticeable and more aggressive - a perfect sound to compliment the assertive nature of an M Coupe or Roadster. You will hear this exhaust but it will not be intrusive or sound out of place on a civilized sports/GT car like the MZ4. Supersprint Racing mufflers are a lighter, louder version of their tuned street performance mufflers. Where the performance muffler must meet European noise regulations the Racing mufflers do not. This allows you to have more volume and zing to your exhaust system. Supersprint has tuned these mufflers to be aggressive but not excessively loud; just loud enough that you know they're in place. Single 90mm tips per side fill out the exhaust outlets nicely and give more definition to the rear end. These will install in place of the factory mufflers and connect to the rest of the factory 335i exhaust system.

These Supersprint mufflers enhance the athletic side of the M5's personality without going too far. With a freer-flowing design there is more of that exhaust pop and rumble coming to the cabin, reminding you that this is a BMW Motorsport vehicle and not a luxury cruiser. These mufflers are more subdued than the race version with a great sound and no dramatic side effects. You hear the exhaust when you want to but it's composed and smooth when you don't want to advertise. A moderate increase in torque and horsepower from less restriction is a nice bonus. These mufflers are clamped in place of the stock mufflers, making for a straight forward and simple install. If you desire later on to hear more of the exhaust, an x-pipe can also be installed to eliminate the rear resonator.

Supersprint sport cats for the E82 and E90/E92 are designed to work with their cat-less headers. The Supersprint sport cats are much freer-flowing than a traditional stock cat. With less restriction, less effort is required to move the exhaust gasses which will free up horsepower and torque. This cat section will mount to the Supersprint headers (p/n 789001) and then to connecting pipes for whichever section 2 you are using (p/n 789022). This section is built with O2 sensor bungs pre-installed after the cat if you wanted to extend your stock post-cat O2 sensors (however, special software may still be needed).

Supersprint metallic sport catalytic converters are sourced from HJS of Germany. For 30 years HJS has been supplying motorsports teams with sport cats when rules required them. HJS is now a worldwide leader in sport cat technology and performance. Rally cars, German DTM, and Formula 3 all rely on HJS for clean, reliable horsepower. Supersprint works closely with HJS to spec a catalytic converter that is correct for the vehicle and engine package. This allows for a substantial increase in flow but which, at the same time, keeps the environmental specs within European limits. With any high-flow catalytic converter, special software or other work may be required to keep emissions fault codes and check engine lights from displaying. Supersprint catalytic converters are sold for track and other off-road uses only.

All E39 fitment note: the fitment of this muffler is designed for the stock E39 rear bumper. The tips will sit below the bumper line. Supersprint produces a different muffler for the 540i M-Sport rear bumper (Supersprint #785926).
525i/530i fitment note: the Supersprint section 2 resonator-delete is used for all 6-cylinder E39 but the factory center resonator is different for the 525i/530i models. Instead of a slip-fit or clamp-on connection it must be welded at an existing seam on the exhaust. The whole exhaust must be removed for this installation. Refer to this image for an illustration. This does not apply if you're only installing the muffler (with small connecting pipe).

By removing the factory catted downpipes you're removing a large sound muffler as well and adding resonators can help tone down the open exhaust. Supersprint's rear mufflers for the 335i and 335xi produce a pleasing but not intrusive exhaust sound. This set of mufflers are considered their 'street' system with only a modest increase in volume to give a hint of added performance without being obnoxious or annoying. HJS is now a worldwide leader in sport cat technology and performance. Rally cars, German DTM, and Formula 3 all rely on HJS for clean, reliable horsepower. Supersprint works closely with HJS to spec a catalytic converter that is correct for the vehicle and engine package. This allows for a substantial increase in flow but which, at the same time, keeps the environmental specs within European limits. With any high-flow catalytic converter, special software or other work may be required to keep emissions fault codes and check engine lights from displaying. The Supersprint rear muffler fits to the stock center exhaust and produces a sportier, slightly more aggressive exhaust note than the stock exhaust. With the stock muffler, the engine noise is dampened a lot. But if you're an enthusiast who wants to accent the 7-series with more sport then this muffler is the perfect touch. The Supersprint muffler is all stainless steel and uses a much freer flowing design to make the exhaust louder and is tuned for a more exciting sound. It's not as big of a change on the Alpina model as that came with a sports muffler already. But there is still a modest sound change as well as torque and power improvements thanks to the less restrictive flow.
