Supersprint sport cats for the M5 V8 are designed to work with their performance headers and replace the stock main cats. The Supersprint sport cats are much freer-flowing than a factory-style cat. With less restriction, less effort is required to move the exhaust gasses which will free up horsepower and torque. This cat section will mount to the Supersprint merge collectors and then to a Supersprint or stock section 2. These are built with O2 sensor bungs pre-installed after the cat which makes for an easy install.

Supersprint metallic sport catalytic converters are sourced from HJS of Germany. For 30 years HJS has been supplying motorsports teams with sport cats when rules required them. HJS is now a worldwide leader in sport cat technology and performance. Rally cars, German DTM, and Formula 3 all rely on HJS for clean, reliable horsepower. Supersprint works closely with HJS to spec a catalytic converter that is correct for the vehicle and engine package. This allows for a substantial increase in flow but which, at the same time, keeps the environmental specs within European limits. With any high-flow catalytic converter, special software or other work may be required to keep emissions fault codes and check engine lights from displaying. Supersprint catalytic converters are sold for track and other off-road uses only.

Supersprint makes one of the nicest, highest quality performance exhausts for the E36 M3 that we have seen. This exhaust functions more like a stock replacement sport exhaust than an aftermarket performance system. The sound is sporty and throaty but without attendant drama and over-powering sound. We like to say that it's a more mature sound than some other aftermarket exhaust which makes it perfect when included on an E36 M3 restoration or classic European tune. Supersprint's sport rear muffler allows more of that engine note to be heard. The stock muffler may be too quiet for some and it's a shame to over-muffle the sound of BMW's engine. Headers should be part of any M20 performance project or restoration. These Supersprint tubular headers are a larger diameter and have better flow than the stock cast iron exhaust manifolds and they make more power. And since the stock headers are known to be brittle and can crack over time these make for an excellent upgrade replacement.
This header system mimics the stock exhaust after the header collectors. It uses the same 3-bolt flange as the original 323 center resonator. This makes them a direct swap from the stock manifolds and downpipes and an easy fitment for a 323 with the stock exhaust. Supersprint also makes a center resonator section and rear mufflers to build a complete system.

Available for both 2.3L and Turner 2.5L engines, a a Turner Conforti Performance Chip gives you the biggest bang for your buck! Jim Conforti tuned these chips on the dyno to boost mid range torque and increase horsepower in the upper RPM range. While not exactly producing V8-levels of torque you will definitely like the power increase across the rev band. The best thing is that there is NO downside to installing a Turner Performance Chip.Turner Motorsport has been in the BMW chip business since 1995 and all chips have been dyno-tuned to achieve optimum performance and safety. As an added feature, the top speed limiter is removed. Premium 91+ octane fuel is required.

Factory BMW exhausts are a compromise - give enough sporty sound to please enthusiasts but not so much that regular buyers are turned off. If you're of the former instead of the latter this Supersprint performance muffler should meet your expectations.
