This connecting pipe is required when fitting any Supersprint muffler to the rest of the 528i exhaust system. It's an adapter pipe that is used to fit the stock exhaust system, or Supersprint section 2, to a 528i Supersprint muffler or dual exhaust conversion.

This pipe fits in the exhaust just ahead of the muffler and deletes the resonator found in the stock exhaust. The resonator acts like an additional muffler and dampens the engine sound so deleting it will make the car louder - allowing more of the signature BMW inline-6 soundtrack to be heard. This is a stainless steel straight pipe for excellent longevity and can fit with the stock or Supersprint performance muffler.

The Turner Motorsport E60 N52 3.0" T304 Stainless Steel Axle-Back & Midpipe Exhaust System is a direct-fit performance exhaust replacement designed to eliminate factory exhaust restriction and enhance the acoustic profile of the BMW N52 engine.
The restrictive OEM muffler and resonator restrict exhaust gas evacuation and suppress the engine's natural exhaust note. The Turner Motorsport system replaces these restrictive factory components with a CNC mandrel-bent 3.0-inch straight-through assembly, minimizing backpressure and accelerating exhaust gas flow while maintaining emissions compliance by retaining all OEM primary and secondary catalytic converters.

These Supersprint section 1 straight pipes are designed to follow the larger pipe sizing of the Supersprint stepped headers. With straight pipes and headers, there will be no cats in the system, making this perfect for race or track-only cars. The straight design will be louder and let more of the S54 rasp to come through. With headers and the Supersprint race mufflers the sound is simply intoxicating. You can use this section with any other section 2 pipe and muffler.

Placing resonators after cat-less downpipes will help tune the sound from the S63TU engine. By removing the factory catted downpipes you're removing a large sound muffler as well and adding resonators can help tone down the open exhaust. This Supersprint resonator is for the left side of section 1 of the exhaust. It is full stainless steel with a mandrel bent pipe for optimized exhaust flow. This center x-pipe fits between the Supersprint section 1 and section 2 pieces. Having an x-pipe equalizes and balances the exhaust gases coming from both banks of cylinders. It helps make the exhaust flow more efficient. The stock exhaust doesn't have this which makes this piece a nice added feature to your Supersprint system. Requries adapter sleeve listed below.
