BMWs turbocharged S55 engine uses a water-to-air charge air cooling system, with a front-mounted heat exchanger responsible for heat dissipation. Unfortunately, the factory single-row, 27mm core design is quick to heat soak under high load, leading to excessive intake air temperatures and potential limp mode conditions especially on modified or track-driven cars.

To solve this issue, we've developed a drop-in upgrade over the factory unit. Engineered for durability and maximum cooling efficiency, this heat exchanger is a must-have for high-horsepower street builds, spirited canyon driving, and extended track sessions. Built from TIG-welded 5052 aluminum, our design eliminates the factory plastic end tanks one of the systems most common failure points. Each heat exchanger features CNC-machined billet aluminum hose connections, mounting flanges, and brackets for perfect OE fitment and trouble-free installation.

By replacing the OEM 27mm single-row core with a robust 35mm dual-row design, this heat exchanger dramatically increases both cooling capacity and surface area. Frontal area jumps from 307mm to 475mm, resulting in a 100% increase in coolant volume and significantly improved heat-soak resistance. The outcome? Lower, more stable charge air temperatures that help your S55 deliver consistent, reliable power on the street or at the track.

This radiator is the OEM Hella replacement for the stock radiator in the E60 545i and E63 645ci and E65 745i. Keeping your BMW at peak performance means including your cooling system in your regular maintenance schedules with the radiator, water pump, and thermostat being the primary components needing replacement. More than likely, you are going to replace the radiator in your vehicle at least once. The joints where the cores meet the end tanks tend to get weak and are the first place to spring a leak. Impacts to the fins themselves can cause holes to form. Corrosion and clogging from the inside can make cooling less than effective and compromise coolant flow. Replace your leaking unit with a factory replacement and get that jug of coolant out of your back seat.

This is a factory original style radiator from Behr and will fit perfectly into the stock location. Cooling will be identical to what your car came with originally. A great replacement with all the proper connections and in all of the proper locations.

When doing radiator and cooling service, you will obviously lose coolant. Browse through the cooling section of your model to see factory correct coolants, seals, and caps. Before beginning, check your hoses to make sure everything is in good shape.
