Made in the USA A very common weak point on the 3 series BMW is the sheetmetal of the rear shock tower. The sheetmetal here is relatively thin and very susceptible to stress and fatigue. A worn out shock will bottom-out more often and this energy is transferred through the bump stop and into the metal chassis. Stiffer shocks and shock mounts also put more stress on the sheetmetal. Factor in age, mileage, and environmental conditions and it's not a surprise that we see shock tower failures often. BMW addressed this issue with reinforcements of their own but our's are thicker for additional strength. This kit mounts on top of the shock tower and can either be bolted or welded in place. Because of the shape of the rear shock tower, these do not fit cabrio/convertible cars.

The rear mounts in BMW 3 series fail, no matter what year from 1983 to present, that is a weak point of the suspension. Here's the solution. The 3 Series "Repair Shop" Rear Shock Mounts carry a lifetime warranty and will last as long as you own your car. Expect the same comfortable ride you have with factory mounts. These are an inexpensive alternative to expensive factory mounts.

Make this complete by adding the mount gasket and nuts (add the option below).

Made in the USA The motor mount area on a subframe is one of those easily-forgotton areas that may be hiding a serious problem. The subframe on the E36 has a gusset ('ear') welded on for the motor mounts. These gussets take the stress of the motor mount as the engine torques (more upgrades = more torque = more stress). Worn motor mounts only transfer more stress to the subframe. Unfortunately, the gusset is not well-reinforced from the factory and cracks can develop along the welds and the gusset begins to collapse. A total failure of the guesset will shift your engine to the side and forward, taking out many other components along the way and leading to a very costly repair.

The next time you replace the motor mounts, oil pan gasket, checking your oil pump nut, or any other time you drop the front subframe, you should install these reinforcements. This kit comes with steel reinforcing plates that are welded to the underside of the guesset as well as plates to close off the bottom of the gusset for extra strength. Instructions included (or see the link below).

The Powerflex Front Sway Bar Bushings - 28.2mm (Black Series) for the BMW F10/F11 5 Series are a specialized upgrade designed for drivers who seek high-performance handling and stability, especially in demanding driving conditions like track days or spirited road use.

Key Highlights:

  1. Black Series - Track-Ready Performance: The Black Series bushings are engineered for maximum rigidity, offering far less flex than the original rubber bushings. This increased stiffness allows the sway bar to function more effectively, improving the car’s resistance to body roll and delivering a sharper, more responsive steering feel. These bushings are built for those pushing their cars to the limit on the track.

  2. Precise Handling Improvement: By upgrading the front sway bar bushings to these Black Series units, you will notice a marked improvement in handling precision. The front end becomes more composed during hard cornering, providing better feedback and quicker responses to driver inputs, crucial for high-performance driving scenarios.

  3. Superior Polyurethane Construction: Unlike factory rubber bushings that tend to degrade with time and exposure to the elements, Powerflex's polyurethane is designed to last. It resists cracking, shrinking, and softening from heat, oil, and road debris, ensuring consistent performance throughout its life. This means less maintenance and fewer replacements over time.

  4. Optimized Suspension Dynamics: These bushings ensure the sway bar stays firmly in place, allowing it to do its job of reducing body roll during sharp turns or fast driving. As a result, the car feels more stable and balanced, providing more confidence when pushing it on twisty roads or track circuits.

  5. Durability and Longevity: Built with motorsport use in mind, the Black Series bushings provide extended durability compared to stock rubber components. They maintain their form and stiffness even under high loads, making them a long-term solution for drivers who need reliability and performance in extreme conditions.

  6. Direct OEM Fit: These bushings are designed to be a direct replacement for the factory units on the 28.2mm front sway bar of the BMW F10/F11 5 Series. Installation is straightforward, making this an easy yet effective upgrade to enhance suspension performance.

Applications:

  • BMW F10 5 Series (2010-2016)
  • BMW F11 5 Series Touring (2010-2017)

If you're looking to elevate the handling of your BMW F10/F11 to track-ready levels, these Powerflex Black Series Front Sway Bar Bushings offer a significant performance boost. By enhancing the stability and responsiveness of your suspension, they make your BMW feel sharper and more controlled, transforming it into a more capable machine in high-demand driving environments.

Sway bars transmit cornering forces from the outside wheels to the inside wheels, helping to keep the vehicle flat during cornering. This, in turn, reduces body roll and improves the driver's cornering confidence. OEM rubber sway bar bushings are designed with comfort in mind, allowing the sway bar to articulate while permitting additional movement, leading to less-than-ideal bar retention and causes unnecessary body roll.

Powerflex polyurethane sway bar bushings are firmer than factory rubber bushings, reducing body roll and keeping sway bars in check. Polyurethane bushings won't slop around like OEM bushings, allowing sway bars to function at their fullest potential.

Poweflex is a leading manufacturer of aftermarket suspension bushings. Using state of the art design and manufacturing, all replacement bushings are engineered to out-perform and out-last the ones that came in the car. Each line of bushings is meticulously tested and then re-tested to ensure perfect fitment and enduring quality through the life of the vehicle. A full lifetime warranty backs every one of their products and demonstrates the level of confidence and commitment Powerflex has to their customers.

Differential bushings are responsible for keeping the differential in solid alignment while dampening drivetrain vibration. While OE rubber bushings are fine when they are new from the factory, aged and worn out rubber bushings create a multitude of issues that can range from annoying to dangerous. As a factory bushing ages, it begins to harden and become brittle. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow for movement at the differential mounting point. At this point, the differential is free to shift under load causing a noticeable clunking noise under acceleration and deceleration and massively increasing the stress on the driveshaft and axles. Manual transmissions suffer the worst from this as it can make shifting difficult since the differential will shift when the clutch is engaged and disengaged.

By replacing these bushings with full polyurethane, the movement is eliminated since the mounting point is supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. This means less stress on the driveshaft and axles and greater longevity of supporting components.

Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Expect improved acceleration response, more direct shifting feel and overall improved drivetrain composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane bushings.

BMW's are notorious for their failure-prone control arm bushings. The pliable rubber bushings, present even in M performance models, allow substantial movement of the front wheels to enhance everyday driving comfort. However, they also permit significant alignment changes, leading to a disconnected and numb road feel that detracts from a confidence-inspiring driving encounter. Over time, the fluid-filled rubber bushings succumb to fatigue and cracking due to continual deflection and ozone degradation, ultimately resulting in the leakage of damping fluid and complete failure.

For the enthusiast looking for superior performance and longevity with a crisp, confidence-inspiring driving experience, our sealed ball joint monoballs are the best solution available! Our experience with spherical control arm ball joints go back to those we designed and used in our IMSA E90 328i and E92 M3 racecars (GS class Champions in 2011).

The bearing housing is precision CNC machined from 6061-T6 anodized aluminum and features a knurled OD to ensure a perfect press fit, and utilize a sealed OEM BMW ball joint for exceptional quality and durability, making them completely at home on both the street and track with no compromise. We have done extensive street, autocross, and track testing to ensure the ball joint used in this bushing design excels in each setting. The advantage of a sealed ball joint is that it eliminates all unwanted deflection while still allowing complete bind-free movement throughout suspension travel, resulting in exceptional control of wheel alignment. What you get is superior steering precision, turn-in response, direct braking feedback, and better handling.

In short, if you're seeking the ultimate in precise, predictable handling and control, with crisp braking response and a long service life that’s equally at home on the street or track - look no further. We have you covered.

Since BMW recommends the control arms be replaced for every other bushing change, we prefer to sell these as a pre-assembled set, and are available (T599476) if you would prefer that option.

Enhance rear-end control and put more power to the ground with a straightforward 3-piece design that installs with ease. The factory rubber may favor ride comfort, but it struggles to keep up when driving gets aggressive. As it wears, the OEM bushing can soften and deform, reducing stability and allowing wheel hop to creep in when you need traction most.

Our 95A durometer polyurethane bushings solve that problem. Engineered to strike the perfect balance between soft factory rubber and harsh solid mounts, they significantly reduce differential movement without introducing excessive vibration. The result is more efficient power transfer, so your torque goes straight to the rear wheels instead of being lost in drivetrain flex.

Features & Benefits:

Minimizes differential movement and instability to help eliminate wheel hop
Two-piece 95A split polyurethane design for easier installation
Precision-fit insert reinforces the bushing and strengthens mounting points
Resistant to road salt, oils, and harsh chemicals
Compatible with dual mount differential plates
Design:

Type II Anodized 6061-T6 CNC billet aluminum inserts for superior corrosion resistance and durability.
95A Polyurethane 2-Piece Isolator.
Product Development:

Our Rear Differential Bushings are designed, engineered, tested, and quality inspected by our Research & Development team. Our development process includes leading-edge product technology: FARO laser scanning for reverse engineering and quality inspection, SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping utilizing our in-house 3D printer, and rigorous long-term product testing.

Control arm bushings play a key role in connecting the wheels to the chassis of the vehicle. Tasked with keeping suspension geometry in check while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber bushings were engineered to provide a balance of comfort and control. As a factory bushing ages, it becomes brittle and begins to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play in the suspension joint. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk forward after the car comes to a stop and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushing with a full polyurethane unit or using a bushing insert, this play is eliminated since the suspension joint is being supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver. Expect improved steering feel, turn in, more responsive handling and overall improved chassis composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings. These bushings have the hole off-center to give your car a little more track, caster, and camber. This style came as standard equipment on E30 M3s (8/89-later) and 1995 E36 M3 but will work with any E30, E36, Z3.

Rubber control arm bushings are designed to flex and absorb energy. That's fine on a streetcar but on an all-out racing machine you want your alignment to stay constant. We have picked Delrin for this application due to its high rigidity and low coefficient of friction allowing for minimal suspension bushing deflection (geometry change) but decreasing bushing windup or drag (friction). They are not recommended for street-use but highly-recommended for track cars.

To save time, pick up a pair of new bushing carrier brackets and hardware. This will save you the time and hassle of pressing out the old bushings. This will especially save you time if you're buying new control arms at the same time (no time wasted removing the old brackets from the arms). Stainless steel set screws included.

BMW E31 Lower Ball Joint Bushing is an essential upgrade for ensuring the long-term performance of your BMW’s suspension system. The original ball joint bushings supplied by BMW, specifically the Lemforder bushings, often suffer from premature cracking due to their weak, transparent plastic boots. This deterioration allows dirt and grime to infiltrate, ultimately damaging the bushings and affecting your vehicle's suspension. The new bushing solution uses advanced polyurethane rubber, known for its ability to resist wear and tear from the elements, providing lasting durability.

Engineered with precision, the BMW E31 Lower Ball Joint Bushing is designed specifically to fit the E31 platform, ensuring it handles the vehicle's weight without compromise. The bushing features OEM dimensions for seamless installation, making it a plug-and-play replacement that requires no additional modifications.

  • Upgraded with durable, weather-resistant polyurethane rubber
  • Eliminates the issues caused by the cracking of original plastic boots
  • Precisely engineered to handle the weight and stress of the E31 platform
  • Plug-and-play installation with OEM dimensions for easy replacement
  • Superior performance and longer lifespan compared to factory bushings
  • Enhances overall suspension function and reliability

The stock aluminum sway bar brackets in the E39 5-Series suffer from a serious design flaw that has resulted in many people experiencing snapping and misshapen brackets, a mounting tab that is simply too weak. Not only was the OE bracket not designed to handle the loads required, but the aluminum construction was also easily fatigued over time, making an already questionable bracket weaker over time. This sub-par construction eventually leads to the mounting tab breaking off, releasing all tension on the sway bar, causing sloppy handling feel and knocking noises in the rear of your BMW. Luckily for all of us, the fix is simple. By swapping the construction from aluminum to steel, while maintaining all of the original dimensions, these brackets offer 3 times the mounting strength versus the OE brackets! This ensures that no matter how many track days or spirited weekends of driving your BMW sees, you can rest easy knowing your rear sway bar is securely mounted. To top it all off, these brackets are also zinc-coated, keeping away rust and corrosion for years. Why go steel E39 brackets instead of using E38 brackets? Fitment. Although the E38 bracket is a commonly suggested upgrade, it does require a bit of modification to fit properly and usually results in a bit of bushing compression, making your sway bar difficult to install.

The Powerflex Front Sway Bar Mounting Bushings (26.5mm) for the BMW E9X 3 Series and BMW X1 xDrive are performance-oriented replacements designed to enhance the function and lifespan of the factory sway bar bushings. Here’s an in-depth description of these bushings: Durable Polyurethane Material: Constructed from high-quality polyurethane, these bushings are far more resistant to wear and environmental factors like oil, heat, and road debris compared to traditional rubber bushings. This ensures long-lasting performance and reduced maintenance over time. Perfect Fit for 26.5mm Sway Bar: Specifically designed for vehicles with a 26.5mm sway bar diameter, these bushings provide a precise fit, allowing for optimal sway bar performance. The snug fit prevents excessive movement of the sway bar, leading to better control and stability during driving. Enhanced Handling and Body Control: By stiffening the connection between the sway bar and the vehicle’s chassis, these bushings help reduce body roll and improve handling. Drivers will experience sharper, more responsive cornering and a more confident feel during quick direction changes. Improved Steering Response: The stiffer polyurethane material ensures that the sway bar reacts more immediately to steering inputs, reducing the lag and sloppiness that can be caused by worn rubber bushings. This results in more precise and predictable handling, especially during spirited driving or on twisty roads. Resistant to Deformation: Unlike rubber bushings, which can crack, shrink, or soften over time, Powerflex polyurethane bushings are engineered to maintain their shape and performance even after prolonged exposure to stress and environmental conditions. This makes them ideal for both street and performance applications. Balanced Performance and Comfort: Powerflex designs their sway bar bushings to deliver performance gains without overly compromising ride comfort. While firmer than rubber, these bushings are optimized to limit increases in noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH), making them suitable for both daily driving and more aggressive driving scenarios. Direct OEM Replacement: These bushings are a direct replacement for the front sway bar bushings on the BMW E9X 3 Series and BMW X1 xDrive models, making installation straightforward and hassle-free. No modifications or additional hardware are needed, ensuring a smooth fitment process. Ideal for Performance Upgrades: Whether you’re looking to improve your vehicle’s handling for street driving or track use, these sway bar bushings offer enhanced performance, greater sway bar effectiveness, and increased durability, making them an essential upgrade for enthusiasts. In conclusion, the Powerflex 26.5mm Front Sway Bar Mounting Bushings for the BMW E9X 3 Series and X1 xDrive are an ideal solution for those seeking improved handling, greater durability, and a more connected driving experience. These bushings deliver performance upgrades while maintaining comfort for everyday driving.

Made in the USA The BMW E46 3-Series chassis is one of the most rigid and well built BMW chassis to date. Even so, it still has some of the traditional BMW weak points. One of these is the rear sway bar / swaybar mounts. From chassis to chassis the problem has not been identical, but all the damage we have seen has been related to metal fatigue. The metal fatigue is due to the constant twisting and side loading of the sway bar. These forces on the sway bar will cause the mounting points to fail over time. The failure can happen faster with sway bar bind due to improper maintenance of the bushings. However, proper sway bar bushing maintenance does not totally eliminate the problem. In the case of the E46 the sheet metal for the bushing bracket does not have enough material to support the loads being transferred to the subframe. We have designed the reinforcement to strengthen and redirect the load to stronger sheet metal. Requires Welding. Does not fit M3.

Differentials serve the key purpose of transmitting power from the driveshaft to the axles. Factory rubber bushings absorb some of this power to allow for cushy, comfortable acceleration, at the expense of performance. Many OEM differential bushings are fast-wearing and failure-prone, resulting in driveline slop and thunks when shifting or going over bumps. Your BMW G80/G82/G87 will improve in: Improved Handling and Stability - Upgrading to an aftermarket rear differential front mount bushing can do wonders for your car's handling and stability. These bushings are designed with performance in mind, reducing unwanted movement of the differential. Reduced Wheel Hop - Wheel hop can be a drag, both figuratively and literally. An upgraded front mount bushing helps minimize wheel hop, especially during hard acceleration or aggressive driving. Say goodbye to that unsettling bounce and hello to smoother power delivery. Powerflex polyurethane differential bushings are firmer than OEM rubber bushings, eliminating associated driveline slop and allowing for the crisp application of power to the ground, resulting in better throttle response and control. Powerflex is the number one selling suspension bushing manufacturer in Europe. Their experience with polyurethane bushing material and state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques allows them to produce premium performance bushings, made to exact-fit standards. Powerflex performance polyurethane bushings are built to last longer than OEM rubber bushings while improving performance and allowing for a more engaging driving experience. The use of Powerflex Copper Grease PCG1 is recommended for ease of installation. Periodic reapplication is recommended to extend the squeak-free service life of bushings. Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Need bushings for a car that's street-driven? Powerflex street bushings are an ideal alternative for street-driven vehicles and those that see occasional autocross or track time.
