There are several deficiences with rubber, especially as it ages - when new the rubber expands and swells under pressure and the pedal can feel spongy. As rubber ages and is exposed to extreme temperatures the rubber can harden and even shrink (common on brake hoses), which results in a stiff pedal. Some modifications to your vehicle may not produce power to create gains in the overall performance of your driving. When you add a "Po' Boy" clutch stop to your BMW the performance gain is directly felt in the driving experience.

The ECS clutch stop allows the driver to fine tune the position of the clutch pedal to closely match the engagement point for precise, quicker shifting. The adjustment range found in this product can be set to the stock engagement point or can be adjusted to follow the wear of the clutch.  Meaning your new experience will never change all the way to the end of the clutch life and can be reset to enjoy the next clutch.

Note: This modification might require some slight modification to the clutch switch mounting bracket, which can be bent slightly by hand.

The ECS Tuning Center Support Bearing Brace is engineered to improve drivetrain performance and longevity. The factory center support bearing features internal an internal rubber bushing to reduce NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) transmission to the cabin. Unfortunately, this material choice falls short when it comes to performance applications. Under extreme load conditions, this bushing is prone to flexing, resulting in driveshaft misalignment. To address the shortcomings of the factory rubber center support carrier design, ECS engineers developed a set of precision-fit, split polyurethane bushings that secure tightly around the existing driveshaft bearing. Constructed from 90A durometer polyurethane, this material eliminates bushing deflection while maintaining minimal noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH). By eliminating deflection, this innovative solution not only improves durability but also ensures a significantly longer service life than the OEM center support bearing—making it an excellent upgrade for aging BMW chassis.

The polyurethane bushings are surrounded by a robust 6061-T6 billet aluminum bracket designed with strength and reliability in-mind. This bracket features a split design for hassle-free installation, eliminating the need to remove the driveshaft assembly entirely. To install the ECS Center Support Carrier, simply cut around your existing bearing, remove the factory brace, and clamp on your new bushings and bracket. This user-friendly approach saves time and simplifies maintenance or upgrades. Two stainless steel socket head screws are used to fasten the two-piece bracket, offering corrosion resistance and secure clamping under high torque and stress. Please note: We include 5 quarts of DCT fluid because without a GT1 diagnostic tool and much more involved labor, you will not be able to replace over 5 quarts of fluid. Both the cartridge and suction filters have their own challenges in replacing. For best results, replace both.

Removal and Installation:

Disconnect the Clutch Line
Remove the clutch line from the slave cylinder to access the factory clutch delay valve.
Remove the Restrictor Plate
Thread the removal tool into the center of the small grommet. Once engaged, carefully pull the tool to remove the grommet and restrictor plate. The small rubber sealing O-ring will come out along with the plate.
Reinstall the O-Ring
Place the rubber O-ring onto the installation tool. Insert the tool into the slave cylinder to properly seat the O-ring in its original position.
Reconnect and Bleed the Clutch
Reattach the clutch line, add fluid, and bleed the system according to your manufacturer’s instructions.
