This clutch kit features an Xtreme pressure plate, a Performance Street sprung clutch disc, and an XACT Streetlite Flywheel.
Their Xtreme pressure plate offers a 50-120% clamp load increase, moderate to heavy pedal feel, and is recommended for high performance street and racing applications. All diaphragms went through a four stage heating process for increased strength and unparalleled performance.
Next in this kit is the Performance Street clutch disc. This is the most popular sprung clutch disc and features high quality organic friction material with a high copper content for improved heat transfer and a steel backed lining for increased strength in burst load circumstances. The modern stock flywheels are burdened with additional components meant to dampen vibrations, which unfortunately adds unnecessary weight. The JB Racing aluminum flywheel, weighing just 10.0 lbs compared to the stock 25.0 lbs, eliminates this excess mass, allowing more power to reach the wheels and reducing the energy wasted on spinning the flywheel. Engine builders prioritize lightweight flywheels when optimizing race engines for maximum efficiency, and the difference is especially noticeable in how quickly the engine revs and reaches its power band.
This JB Racing lightweight flywheel is a direct replacement for the stock flywheel and is compatible with the factory BMW organic clutch. This clutch kit features a Heavy Duty pressure plate, an G6 racing clutch disc, and an XACT Streetlite Flywheel.
The heavy duty pressure plate included offers a 20-50% clamp load increase, stock-moderate pedal feel, and heat treated diaphragms for increased strength and performance.
Next in this kit is the G6 racing clutch disc. This disc is a sprung, 6-pad disc that is suited for high horsepower road and track style racing and is also better at handling higher heat versus the 4-pad version of this disc, the G4. The G6 pads are composed of ceramic friction materials and the disc has a chome-moly hub that is heat treated for additional strength under high load engagements. Also featured are heavy duty torsional springs that are rated for the clutch kit's expected uses. Over stock, this clutch kit has a much higher torque capacity and is better for quick shifting thanks to lower weight and inertia. Despite its ceramic racing style pads, this disc has great durability. In turn, these pads provide higher heat tolerances and faster, more aggressive clutch engagements.
