Timing chain guides are a main failure point in the otherwise bulletproof M62. Common symptoms of failure include excessive vibration or “slap” from the timing chain, and the possibility of plastic particles throughout the oil. Symptoms typically begin to surface between 80,000 and 100,000 miles. If left untouched, the issue can compound itself so far as to allow the timing chain to jump out of time, leaving you with a potentially damaged head and larger repair costs.
This kit has been assembled using genuine BMW components. From new timing chain guides to a replacement oil pan drain plug, this kit has you covered to assure that all the needed parts are on hand and ready to install.

These WPC-treated bearings are the best we have seen for the S62. WPC is a shot-peening treatment at a microscopic level. It's perfect for sensitive surfaces like bearings. The WPC treatment removes imperfections and high spots, while creating a surface that retains oil better than the original surface. This greatly reduces friction. The bearings in this kit are factory BMW bearings that are sent to WPC for treatment. The treated bearings are stronger with less metal fatigue and less friction than buying off-the-shelf bearings from the dealer.
Price is for a complete set of S62 upgraded rod bearings.
Has your BMW's with the N62 V8 engine developed a coolant leak at the front of the engine from the timing cover weep hole? If so the it is likely that the coolant transfer pipe seal, located below the intake manifold has developed a leak. Normally, replacing the seal on this pipe would require almost 40 hours of labor and involve removing the entire engine from the car, then removing the cylinder heads, and timing covers. The oxygen sensor is part of your BMW's emissions control system and feeds data to BMW engine management computer. The oxygen sensor is positioned in the exhaust pipe and can detect rich and lean mixtures. The goal of the oxygen sensor is to help the engine run as efficiently as possible and also to produce as few emissions as possible. When your BMW oxygen sensor fails, the computer can no longer sense the air/fuel ratio, so it ends up guessing -- resulting in poor performance, poor gas mileage, and increased pollution. Make sure your BMW engine performs as it should, and doesn't use more fuel than it needs to, by simply changing your oxygen sensor today.
