Soft bushings are the enemy of launching hard, and keeping your drivetrain together. The BMW Transfer Case bushings are notoriously soft, and that is the opposite of what you want when launching a car hard. You can replace the bushing with a solid one, but this is time-consuming usually requires lowering or removing the transfer case, and results in a lot of added NVH. The best path is simply to reduce the amount of flex of the factory bushing so you keep the nice manners when cruising around town, and at idle, but when its time to the launch the transfer case cannot move as it could without the insert. These come as a set of two with 2 bolts to keep them in place. Install time once you get to them is about 2-3 minutes. Could not be easier. Put some lube on them, push them in, and tighten the screws. These are a MUST for high-power G8X, and F9X X3/X4M Builds. All platforms they fit are below. These are the stock rubber motor mounts for the E30 M20 engine - 325e and 325i. These are the original spec full rubber mounts. The M20 has a fatal flaw especially when the motor mounts are worn. The engine can shift and contact other things in the engine compartment, mostly cooling-related parts. This is especially troublesome on the 1984-1987 models as the alternator belt and blades can cut into the lower radiator hose. Don't neglect your motor mounts! A worn motor mount allows the engine to twist and shift around. The harder you're driving the more shift will occur. Twisting of the engine can also lead to shifting problems as the transmission twists with it. There are countless issues related to worn or compressed motor mounts so don't overlook these as a regular replacement item (every 50,000 miles).

For more serious track or street cars we recommend our HD motor mount kit with reinforcing cups - click here. These are a stiffer mount to begin with (coming from the Euro 635CSi) and the aluminum cups give additional strength especially for the side-side shearing loads that you get from cornering.

VTT noticed a hole in the F9X X3/4M market for a high-quality, lightweight, NVH-friendly, and easy-to-install Diff Lock Down kit to improve diff stability under launching, and hard cornering. So we did something about it and went to work on a very innovative design that 100% positively locks the diff down from movement, while shielding it from adding a ton of NVH, and can be used with the stock diff, and subframe bushings. This design uses existing mounting points on the vehicle, you do NOT have to remove the subframe or the Diff to install. Simply remove 4 differential bolts, drill two holes in the subframe slightly bigger, install two M8 riv-nuts, and install the lockdown, you do not even have to move the exhaust. A typical install can be 30-45 minutes for someone who is experienced working on vehicles, an hour or two if you like taking it slow. The E30 rear subframe is held into the chassis by two bolts going through these rubber mounts. A lot of suspension motion, chassis flex, and driveline torque has to go through these two points, which makes them notorious for failure.
