A 4-piece set of new OEM rear upper and lower shock mounts to complete your shock install or replace broken mounts (RSM). The top mounts on the shocks for the E82 1M and E90/E92/E93 M3 consist of 4 pieces. These are the mounts to fit a non-EDC suspension.

Rear Shock Mount (RSM) Kit consists of:
A. rear upper-top shock mounts, 33506771737
B. rear upper-middle shock mounts, 33506767010
C. rear upper-bottom shock mounts, 33506771738
D. rear upper supporting cup, 33526764418 (sits over bumpstop)
The lower mount on the 1M/M3 is integrated on the shock absorber.

That's a lot of rubber that takes constant deflecting and absorbing of cornering forces and impacts from bumps, potholes, etc. Replacing the RSMs is key to maintaining a quiet and comfortable ride. Price is for all 4 upper pieces.

Upper shock mounts and bearings are good to replace while replacing front shocks. It is easier and often less expensive to replace them preventatively than to have them fail shortly afterward and have to take apart the whole suspension a second time. This front shock tower bearing fits BMW E39 540i M5 and Z8.

It's also a good idea to replace the upper spring plate and bearing at the same time. Often, these bearings are worn out and should not be put back in the car. See below for the link to add these to order too.

The strut mounts (or guide support) locate the front strut to the chassis of the car. They are a very durable rubber meant to absorb vibration and impacts from bumps, potholes, etc. There is also a bearing inside that allows the strut shaft to turn independent of the rest of the suspension. Therefore, the front strut mount is a very critical piece on the E36 suspension. These mounts generally last 100,000 miles or more but it would be a good idea to change them with every strut replacement. Alternate part number - 31336779613 .

MEYLE-ORIGINAL: True to OE front upper strut mount. The upper strut mount connects the top of the strut assembly to the strut tower of the vehicle. The upper mount along with the upper spring perch or pad top off a strut and spring combo. The spring must usually be compressed to be installed or removed safely and successfully. For this reason great care must be taken and proper tools used when removing or replacing upper strut mounts from strut assemblies. A bearing or bushing in the mount is typical in top mounts and is a wear item that can result in poor suspension performance and popping or clicking noises when turning the wheels.
