The G8x M3 and M4 cars are incredibly well sorted from a cooling standpoint. Even in a road course environment with extremely high ambient temperatures, the S58 engine tends to operate beautifully, with consistent oil and water temperatures. Although excellent ducting, good core design, strong fans, and other factors all play into how well a cooling system works, there is one ultimate factor that cannot be circumvented- you must have enough heat exchanger surface area, and you must have enough heat exchangers. A direct impact on the oil cooler can have catastrophic effects, draining the S58 of all of its oil in seconds, a fact that more than a handful of previous generation M3 and M4 owners have had to learn in a painfully direct way. When examining the front of an M3 or M4, then, we see the hard work of the M engineers in packaging the various cooling components of the car. Everything had to be accounted for, and given ample space, surface area, and ducting. Unfortunately, this leaves the S58 engine’s oil cooler precariously exposed with no protection.

The Verus Engineering Carbon Polyweave Side Splitter Kit completes the aerodynamic appearance of your BMW G87 M2. These units were designed specifically to flow with the factory side-splitter and feature a horizontal member which reduces the amount of high-pressure air making its way to the bottom side of the vehicle. This high-pressure air produces lift, and by reducing this, we reduce lift on the chassis. This is specifically prevalent while the vehicle is in yaw or while turning.

Front splitters are very effective at producing front-end downforce without increasing drag significantly. They do this by creating a large pressure delta between the top and bottom surfaces. Utilizing scan data directly from the car and CFD, we were able to produce a splitter that pairs well with our UCW rear wing and can easily handle the loads seen by the splitter. Splitter tunnels or splitter diffusers were added to increase front end downforce further than a flat blade alone. The splitter mounts to multiple chassis locations for a strong and durable mounting style. All hardware locations are recessed for improved aerodynamic performance. During research and development, great care and focus was taken to ensure the oil cooler's exit airflow did not adversely hurt splitter performance. We offer a block off plate, an exit duct, and you can run the car with a wide open splitter as well, for varying levels of front on downforce and performance. The splitter is produced from a carbon polyweave, which is the same material used in high forms of Motorsports. The material is not brittle, so no more issues with cracking like carbon fiber and ABS. It will not grab and bend under the car like aluminum units either. The material is also lightweight and stiff; which makes it a great splitter material The air dam is used to bring the splitter flat with the vehicle's underbody and improve performance further. The air dam is produced from sheet aluminum and then powder coated black for durability. The Verus Engineering Carbon Hood Louver Kit for G87 BMW M2 helps reduce engine bay heat and pressure. The louver improves cooling stack efficiency, under hood component longevity, and adds a bump in the front end downforce by alleviating air pressure in the engine bay. Using scan data, Verus Engineering developed the hood louver to have an OEM-type fit and finish to the hood's contour. Verus Engineering took special care to ensure the louver was placed in an area that removed *minimal* under hood structure as well as in an area of low pressure for maximum evacuation. Through CFD and on-track data, Verus Engineering found the louvers to work very well on the car, dramatically reducing under-hood temperatures and improving aero balance. The UCW Swan Neck Rear Wing is a great addition to your BMW G87 M2 to increase downforce significantly in the rear, increase confidence on track, and reduce lap times. Designed to work on the factory trunk and handle the downforce well, the rear wing bolts on easily and improves performance this sports car can utilize on track. Utilizing state-of-the-art analysis software during the R&D process, we optimized the airfoil for performance for the given build volume which is derived from the V1X. Further utilizing CFD, we ensured the rear wing sees adequate airflow while installed on the car and performs well. During the design process; we utilized in-house scan data. This results in a product that features a near OEM fit and finish. Utilizing a goose neck or swan neck style of mounting improves wing efficiency and performance.
