The factory dual-mass flywheel in W11-powered MINI Coopers was designed with comfort in mind—minimizing drivetrain vibration and delivering smoother shifts. However, this focus on refinement comes at a performance cost. The hefty 27 lbs. of rotational mass dulls throttle response, slows acceleration, and makes rev-matching more difficult.
