Genuine BMW replacement head gasket for the S54. Must be replaced any time the cylinder head is removed or when there are oil or coolant leaks coming from the head gasket.

When these gaskets leak you'll start to smell oil burning when the engine is hot. Also everything downward from the top of the engine becomes coated in a greasy film.
The valve cover gasket keeps all of the motor oil inside your engine. Your valve train and lifters get soaked with oil to keep everything lubricated. If the valve cover fails, engine oil seeps and leaks out, running down and burning on the block or cylinder head. Replace it and keep your engine compartment clean and tidy with all the engine oil in the motor.
