What can you do to get rid of this heat soak? Turner designed an IAT relocation kit that moves the intake air temp sensor to a cooler location. Mounting the sensor further away from the heat source and isolating it from the MAF housing, it can both resist the effects of heat soak longer and respond to temperature changes more quickly. The result is you’ll experience reduced torque loss and more consistent power output when you’re pushing your engine hard.

This is a replacement set of bolts for the oil pan on your BMW equipped with an M54, N52, N54, or N55. The stock bolts are easy to strip, break, or even lose. A common cause of check engine light and limp mode after running the car hard. Restarting the car commonly clears the code and/or limp mode. Two different problem codes, 2A87 "Outlet-Vanos variable cam control test" and "2A82 Inlet-Vanos variable cam control test", are thrown indicating the possibility of various VANOS-related problems. The M54 engine has well-documented issues caused by harmonics. The extreme vibrations cause the weak oil pump shaft to shear off or the oil pump nut to come loose and fall off, all of which results in an instant loss of oil pressure. Achilles Motorsports decided to develop a solution to fix all of these known issues. Achilles takes their oil pump shafts to the extreme, using only the toughest materials and heat treatment processes to ensure optimum strength. The core of this kit is a hardened Chromoly shaft that is centerless ground to ensure absolute trueness. The shaft is engineered with an exclusive square key lock system that not only prevents the gear from ever spinning on the shaft but also adds strength to the area to which the gear mounts. Achilles Motorsports then replaced the pesky oil pump nut with an extended length bolt that is EDM drilled for safety wire to properly secure it for all conditions. This is an OEM INA Idler Pulley, also known as the roller pulley or deflection pulley. The idler pulley is known to be the primary sources for 'belt squealing'. The pulley is also encased in rubber which will crack over time. If left without service the rubber could fail completely, chucking the belt and leaving you stranded. Replacement is a very simple procedure and can be done anytime the fan is off the engine (belt replacement, water pump service, alternator replacement, etc).

The engine crankcase in you car is filled with oil to keep everything lubricated, and to keep the oil inside of the engine, seals are used anywhere there is a seam in the engine, or any place a shaft protrudes from the engine. One such seal is the front main crankshaft seal. This seal is located around the the crankshaft at the front of the engine, and keeps oil from leaking out around the crankshaft. The crankcase breather valve is used to purge the oil vapor from the engine block into the valve cover. However, sometimes condensation can cause it to freeze, causing the entire oil separator system to fail, crack, and disintegrate. Replace this and all the other components of the oil separator system to prevent damage to all the aspects of your engine. Over time, your engine timing components begin to wear out. Tensioners weaken, chains can stretch, and timing chain guides can wear down. All of these lead to the possibility of the timing chain jumping teeth on the sprockets, causing your timing to shift. This could result in rough idle and reduced engine power, or even complete engine failure. Prevent damage to your engine with new timing components, such as this IWIS timing chain tensioner. Note, we recommend replacing timing components every 100K miles, or sooner, depending on the condition of the timing components.

Hydraulic Belt Tensioner for E36, E46, E39 6-cyl models. This is the oil-filled tensioner that keeps the main drive belt in the proper tension. Over time the piston seals inside allow fluid to leak out. The tensioner becomes frozen or inoperable. Replacement is the best corrective action to take. This can be done during any belt or pulley service or anytime the fan is off the engine.
