Tasked with keeping the vehicles rear end firmly mounted while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber subframe bushings were engineered to provide a balance of control while keeping the ride quality soft and supple. As a factory bushings age, they become brittle and begin to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play, or movement in the subframe. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk or "thunking" noise under acceleration and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushings with full polyurethane this play is eliminated since the subframe is being held in place by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering and acceleration inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver.

Sometimes you have to take the cylinder head off of your vehicle to diagnose problems, have it rebuilt, or replace a faulty head gasket. It tends to be a fairly labor intensive job, so anytime you can make it easier is definitely helpful.

Stock rubber flex discs allow for a slight amount of give, especially under heavy acceleration and, depending on the amount of force applied, could potentially tear or split. This slight flex/give can prevent instantaneous transfer of force to the wheels, making accelerations unpredictable, or even lead to your vehicle being stuck on the side of the track. To combat this, IRP's Performance Flex Disc was developed. Made of CNC machined aluminum, this flex disc won't actually flex, and the polyurethane bushings will only provide a enough give to dampen some vibrations and prevent damaging the transmission. If you have a clunking sound in the front end, the front swaybar end-link is one of the items to check. The standard plastic ball joint inside the boot will wear or crack, allowing excess motion. This is a Meyle HD part with metal ball joints that will last longer than the standard design. These links are identical to the standard links except for the ball joint and mount the swaybar to the control arm. Meyle is a German brand in business since 1958 and all of their products are TUV approved and meet or exceed ISO standards. In addition, these links come with a 4-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
